"Sure you can," Nate said as he stood beside her, letting her know he was there for her. "If you don't want to, we can go, but you absolutely can do this."

Nate was right. She could do it. Ever since Dani had been given the news about Chris and his past she didn't know about, she'd been curious about his grandfather. She'd gotten the address from Rick, and now she was standing at the man's door ready to knock, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.

"You knock for me."

Nate smiled at her. "This is all on you."

"I'm scared."

"You don't have anything to be scared of. You're the bravest, most amazing person I know. If the person on the other side of the door can't see that, then that's on them."

"You're right."
