章節 44: Chapter 44

Caroline explained to Joe that Victoria had dragged them out of the water and into the cave, she made the fire and then told her to let him sleep and not to leave the cave. She explained to Caroline the severity of leaving the cave on an island with over 3,000 vampires, werewolves and other magical creatures who would definitely mistake her for one of the 100 or so humans on the island they are at war with. Then Caroline told him that Victoria herself had left the cave in search of something and said she would be back soon. Caroline guessed two hours or so had passed since she left.

Joe felt his stomach rumble, the only thing inside was the dread, he felt weak and caroline looked up at him with her big doe eyes.

"What if she doesn't come back? We'll need to leave the cave eventually right? We got to eat something, find a way off this island."

"She'll be back." Joe assured her.
