章節 3: Krishna Enters Mathura [End]

When the brothers reached the grand city of Mathura, their uncle Akrura returned to his house while they explored the city together on their own.

As they walked the streets of Mathura, Krishna and Balaram saw the people of the city dressed in fine garments and jewellery. The streets were very broad and decorated with buntings of flower garlands and mango leaves.

They were sprinkled with rose water and water mixed with sweet smelling spices and saffron. The ladies stood on the balconies of their houses, looking like heavenly maidens. They were also dressed beautifully and wore jewels that sparkled when they moved about.

Whoever saw Krishna and Balarama could not look away, as they were so attractive that one could not take one's eyes away from their beautiful faces.

Krishna and Balarama visited the flower seller Sudama, who was a great devotee. When he saw the brothers at his door, Sudama was very happy and offered them both fresh flower garlands that he had just made to wear.

Krishna and Balarama were very happy and offered them both fresh flowers garlands that he had just made to wear. They were very happy with this simple man's devotion and asked him to ask for a boon.

Sudama asked that he always remains as their servant. Krishna blessed Sudama that his wish would be fulfilled and left his house, satisfied with the service he had received.
