章節 13: Chapter 13

Her legs were going to fall off, Neivayka swore, as she trudged behind the all too spunky and energetic wolf girl that was showing no sign of slowing down. She glared at Nesha’s back, hating her slightly for how unaffected she was by the long walk.

“Hey, how much further?” Neivayka bugged her desperately.

“Not far,” was her only, infuriating answer.

“I’m sorry, but how far is ‘not far’ exactly? ‘Cause I feel like we passed ‘not far’ a while back,” Neivayka argued petulantly.

Nesha looked back and raised an eyebrow at her, then rolled her eyes.

“Fine,” she conceded to the unspoken plea for a break.

Nesha stopped next to a tree and leaned nonchalantly against its odd multicolored bark. Neivayka flopped down in the nearest spot that didn’t hold any bugs, having learned that these insects are not all they seemed.

“Thank you,” Neivayka murmured gratefully.

“Rest up,” Nesha told her. “We need to be out of these woods by nightfall.”
