Elgin, Friday evening
By the time Kevin made it back to National, there was only a skeleton crew left. He gathered Cheryl and Cyrus, and together they drove to Sunset Park. They weren't sure of Cathy's whereabouts, but Kevin figured they could fill her in later.
When Kevin rang Katya's doorbell, the door flew opened, and Dawn stood there wearing pajamas and eating a piece of pizza.
"Oh hi, Callahans," she said with her mouth full. "We thought you were the chicken wings, delivery guy."
"Who is it?" Cathy called from the next room.
"It's your family," she yelled back. "Come on in, guys; we were having a Friday girl's night. You know, retro, like when we were kids back in the early twenties."
Katya, Lesley, and Cathy came bopping out from the kitchen, also wearing pajamas.
"Hi, guys," said Cathy. "Katya here was just about to find the key to her special room to take us back to our childhood years."
