"You're really inconsiderate making an old man like me play hide and seek."
"Aggh!"
"So you were hiding here for the past few days. I must say, this shop looks interesting."
"Gaa- Stop squashing us with you mana, Teach!"
Just from mana alone, the two weaker beings are flat on the ground. It works through multiplying the density of the air around them by pouring mana, an extreme amount of mana in a transparent dome in which the three of them were inside. No magic is applied which just to show how powerful Steron is.
Inside the thoughts of Brian, he wanted to know how did he end up here. He was an innocent business owner that was about to sleep for the night.
"Oops, I should probably stop for this human here… You have a strange constitution."
"Thank you, Teach."
"Not you. You still need some time to reflect."
"Gaaaah!"
Feeling the pressure left his body, Brian took all deep breathes reclaiming all oxygen his body had not received under the threat.
Steron might felt sorry for involving Brian because he helps him stood up by blowing some wind that gave him balance on his feet. His attitude was night and day between his student and an outsider.
Brian saw the Gargantuan is still suffering to the point his hair looks better flat. But he was very happy he's not in his shoes. All he can say for him is, 'That's what you get.'
"Sorry I got you involved there."
"No problem. So can I leave…?"
"I've got a few questions I wanted to ask, but it's very late already. I'll just visit your shop tomorrow."
Brian can only nod despite what he wants was the opposite. He wished Steron will never visit again because his heart cannot take it. He doesn't even know if the King of Soliel was as strong as this old man.
His Auzeweth empire is lucky to have people like Steron in a continent unknown to them or else the balance of power will be chaotic more than what it is currently before.
The teacher carried his student on his shoulder like a sack of rice before teleporting away. Hopefully this time, it was for real.
'How the hell can I sleep when all the parts of my body are aching like crazy. I need some ice but where do I get some… I miss having refrigerators.'
Making sure his painful groans didn't wake Paia up, he was able to somehow get some sleep although it was clear he was tired as soon as he woke up.
...
"It's rare you're staying here today, Boss Bry."
"We'll have some visitor."
"?"
It's not the best day for his blacksmith today. Only three to five customers were present at the same time. Most of them came for the repair service. That's understandable considering what service a blacksmith can only do. Compare it to an alchemy shop where people may come every day to purchase daily necessities like basic potions.
He checked his smith working behind the workshop is everything is going well so far. As the only person working and forging all these wares, the process to complete one product is slower than usual. However, the 10:1 ratio of time here greatly helps meeting the quota for the day.
If those who came for repair didn't decide to leave immediately after leaving their equipment to their care, they can receive it in just a few minutes.
While Brian was having a small chat with Richi, he was called by Lucy that someone was looking specifically for him. He didn't want to go but it's the only choice if he wants to have peace of mind.
"You have a nice shop here. Reminds me of a certain period."
From the outside, he didn't pose any threat at all. Steron was able to conceal his strength very well. That is why Lucy wasn't on high alert when this old man entered their establishment. She thinks he is the normal customer for the usual purpose.
This just to shows how disconnected she was from anything outside of her sister and Nova. Because if she just listened to some passerby talking about the current events, she'll gradually know who the person asking for his boss is far from being usual.
"Don't you need to worry about hiding your identity, Senior?"
"I don't really care about them."
"But there is a bounty if people can give your location or any information regarding it… My customers here are already prepared to run and go to the nearest patrol knights."
"At least I can help them earn some few coins. Don't worry, I won't stay here for long." He stroked his beard without caring for the greedy eyes surrounding him.
Since the man himself didn't care, Brian doesn't need to ask the customers a favor to forget what is happening now. All four returning and new customers left, bumping comically on the doorway wanting to have the head start.
That helped creates a peaceful place to have a talk.
"Lucy, give Senior a chair to-"
"No need, I'm not senile enough to not be able to stand for a few minutes."
His blacksmith is not equipped to prepare any formal guest so he can't offer tea or any other things to show his respect.
"Let me start by saying my apologies once again for disturbing you last night."
"E-Everything's fine. No need for Senior to bow."
Having a person with the capabilities to topple a kingdom bow down before you can make anyone stutter.
Brian might be crazy to think that it was better if Steron has a more overbearing attitude rather than this very considerate and humble person. During his time as Brian Laurefort, he wasn't or better to say- can't bow down to a common citizen when he was bearing the name of nobility.
Even back on earth where people have more ways to be equal rather than strength alone. Those who sits on top, often or not, don't care about those below them.
"Now for why I came… Will you accept the likes of Samon working here?"
"… Most likely- But if Senior say so then-"
"That's all I need to know. The likes of Samon cannot stay in one place. He's too free-spirited of a kid. I feel like my short life is getting short just by disciplining him."
Lucy on his side was curious about what they were talking about but just ended up playing with the phone after not knowing why they were talking about Samon.
"I came here in Soliel thinking it was just one of those days where Samon escapes with his childish whims of lessening his workload. However, I saw yesterday it seems to be not the case."
"He should be more of a lazy person rather than a free-spirited person. The connotation of free-spirit sounds too good for him."
"Hahaha! I agree with you, but that's just a part of him. Once he lazed around enough, he'll find ways to roam around where the wind blows."
Samon must have had Steron as his teacher for a long time already. The way Steron talks about his troublesome student is like a father shaming and boasting his son to his co-workers.
So when Steron proceeds with his next words, he was a bit emotional.
"I still have some students waiting for me as I play around here. I may be too attached to the fact Steron is my first student, but I can't be running across the continent to bring him back then do the same after a while. Giving that much of my time to a single student doesn't do any good to any side at all."
"So Senior is saying?"
"I guess it's time for the little bird to spread his wings alone… Samon already knows about my decision so expect him to visit soon after he recovers from his injuries. I hope Sir Brian can give my student a job after I kick him out."
"… I'll still need to see if he's qualified."
"Hahaha~ Of course. If he can't get this job when he was taught by me, then he deserved to be homeless.
Samon should have shared some things concerning Brian and Nova because he already knows what kind of work his student was applying in.
They don't have enough time to know more about each other because knights are coming here at the moment, but Steron was very satisfied with the first proper meeting they had. He's confident his student should be the one with the worse character compared to this boss.
There's a relief knowing that Samon met someone like Brian in a city far away from theirs. It's just that there was a problem in him- And this leads to the next topic he wants to talk about before leaving.
"Sir Bryan… Your life essence is close to dying."
