Paia was holding a bundle of yellow flowers on her hand. Brian gave only the best looking for her while the rest was in the basket. He thought they were just simple flowers but it begs to differ when he appraised it.
<Dandy Lion>
<Description: A flower that can absorb tiny amounts of magic in the air. It would be able to propagate quickly even in the harshest condition>
<Potential: D->
"System, it won't be a problem if I decorate outside the blacksmith, right?"
<System: As long as the User won't dirty anything directly with your artistic value akin to a fly, then there would be no problem>
"Hey I was the one who chose the design for the blacksmith and I must say, it's very appealing."
<System: You just picked among my designs. If the User wants to, I can give the option of making the User design everything alone>
"I'll never mention it again…"
The brief exchange only a single person can hear ended as Brian looked for a place where he can plant a bunch of the flowers in his hands. He decided the land between his house and the blacksmith is the best place to be filled with yellow fields of flowers.
Based on the Appraisal skill descriptions, the view of where his properties are located should be a bit better after only a few days.
Nothing changed inside the shop after leaving it for the day. From the outside, the blacksmith looks like a well-off house so it will not be strange people with bad intention wants to visit it. But with the security measure of the System, normal people will not be able to enter without permission.
'Not like there are things to take anyway. And if the System is overprotective about the workshop, it may be the most secured place not only in the blacksmith but also maybe in the whole Soliel City.'
Brian felt safe leaving the blacksmith alone anytime, but they were not alone this time. Entering the door where heating flames coming out of furnaces should be raging, the workshop was surprisingly cool despite flames still present.
It was one of the additional features of the System's creation. Of course, the coolness was only on their side or else the bizarre change in temperature between a single step will create problems for the forging process. As cool as the father and daughter might be, the man hammering a long sword mold was dripping in sweat.
"Richi. You can finish for the day after that. The sun is already setting outside."
"Boss Brian! Feel like forever since I last saw you. Sorry if I have not noticed."
"Don't worry any make sure you don't overwork on the very first day of your apprenticeship."
Brian was genuinely worried about his employee. If the time in the workshop really moves ten times slower then Richi would have been working for over a hundred hours. He asked whether he took a break and Richi only told him, "I don't know why but I never felt tired during all this time. I can even feel like I can go and forge more."
Sensing something is wrong, he asked the system about this, and true to it, it was the effect of protecting the individuals staying in the workshop from the distortion of time on the outside world.
Richi might have not believed the System avatar's words or simply forgot because many hours pass by while he was working, but the wolf was shocked to the point of fainting when he saw how little time has passed by.
In Richi's case, he knows how long the process of forging a hundred creations which he did without any break. But he only thought the reason why his energy has not dissipated in the slightest is because of his unyielding spirit to achieve the enlightenment for his desire to master the path of being a blacksmith.
Brian will immediately think Richi is an idiot if he was able to read his thoughts. No matter how stubborn a person may be, there was no reason to not find it strange working for hours straight.
The System might have told them the reason, but it is not Brian's job to remind him what kind of working environment he was working in. It would also be impossible for them to talk about the out-of-the-world experience outside.
'This also reminds me… I should teach Paia slowly the existence of the System. Not all of it, but enough for her to know it should be kept a secret for anyone.'
Luckily, according to the system, there is a magic place on everyone involved in Nova that forces every word related to the System to be mumbled. This means that Brian, Richi, and even Paia will not accidentally have their soul extracted from them unless they willingly force to share the forbidden information.
So when the wolf sleeping on the cold wooden floor wakes up, he will be able to keep their secrets from his family. The System specifically mentioned the thing they can never share is the workshop so it would be possible to share some events that happened in Nova.
"I guess I'll know his progress tomorrow."
"Father. Brother Richi will get cold if he sleeps like that."
"You need not to worry because they have thick fur. But yes, we should bring him to their home."
Brian can only drag Richi across the floor and rough road. His wolf employee was much larger and much heavier compared to Paia. There is no way his body can handle carrying such a heavy load. He can only atone silently when there were bumps and rocks on their path.
When Raine saw the two of them outside their door, the first thing that came to her mind is that her son was drunk. Telling her that he just simply overworked seems to make her angrier so Brian was feeling guilty for the sermons Richi will be receiving when he wakes up.
In that way, the day has concluded in a peaceful manner…
However that does not seem to be the case for Richi when he came to Nova Blacksmith the next day.
"I got beaten by father when he thought I overworked."
"That reason would be better for them to believe so don't go collapsing again to avoid more beatings."
Brian was alone this time. As much as he wants to always bring her daughter with him, her education is more important. Her progress in learning the language seems to be advance faster than he expected since she was able to understand and join many of the conversations yesterday.
Coming to meet Brian, Richi was still depressed because of the misunderstanding. But when they enter the workshop, he immediately returns to himself.
"Let me show the progress you had for the past 10 days."
"Yes, Boss Brian."
"I'll prefer if you just call me Boss Bry. Rolls better on the tongue." Brian repeats what Ogz said before. It was also his nickname back on Earth so he felt a little attach to it.
Richi seems to have accepted the fact that time was slower in the workshop because he did not make a comment when Brian told him he was working for 10 days' worth of training without breaks within a single day.
Grabbing the hammer that became his partner, Richi did not go for a dagger this time. Instead, he continued where he left off and decided to create a long sword this time.
The weapon Richi might be harder to create compared to a dagger but the process was much faster compared to when he started forging yesterday. Improvements are evident even when a person without experience in blacksmith saw him.
Cooling off and doing the final touches, Brian asked for the sword rather than putting it on the grading table.
<Steel Long Sword>
<Description: Made by Richi of Triphon and taught by the Amazing System, this steel sword made out of the most common materials is somewhat acceptable in the eyes of this System but a great weapon for the normal citizens>
<Potential: A->
Nodding in satisfaction, Brian placed it back on the storage. It vanished but no one in the room was surprised. Supposedly, no products used in the trial period can be sold so even if it meets the System's requirements, it will immediately be sent to the recycle bin.
Brian was proud of how his first employee came to be. Yesterday, he was having a hard time accepting his own mediocrity but now he was able to create swords of much better quality compared to what he saw. It might be a bit lackluster compared to the System's work but Richi is slowly getting there.
