章節 30: Two Faced
Hearing her daughter's words filled with concern, Kang Mao Lan naturally felt warmth. She nodded to herself.
"You're right. That b*tch is just an ungrateful daughter. She didn't even care for me and only make things difficult for me."
Yu Xin smiled. "This time, just let her off, Mom. You should be more concerned of yourself and pay more attention to your health. I'm fine and naturally the doctor will do their best to make sure that there's no mark."
Internally, she was cursing her sister with thousands of even hundreds of thousands curse words she could think of. She naturally didn't wish to let Yu Yan off the hook but with the things being disadvantaged to her... she would only get the bad side effect.
It would be a losing battle.
Rather than making Yu Yan paid this time, it would be better for her to strike some brownies point with her mother and also Bao Tu.
Yu Xin's eyes darted to the door before she focused on her mother again. She had heard the door creak just now, so she could guess that Bao Tu had already returned not long ago. However, she pretended that she didn't know and only coaxed her angry mother.
Kang Mao Lan nodded vehemently. "You're right! I'll tell the doctor to make sure that your face will return back to normal! There's no way I'll let you be harmed!"
"Yes, Mother." Yu Xin smiled.
"You're really a good girl." Kang Mao Lan patted Yu Xin's hand. She gritted her teeth. "If only your sister is as good as you, I'll never feel this angry to her."
Yu Xin merely smiled.
Hoping Yu Yan to be good to Kang Mao Lan would be nothing more than a dream. After all, Yu Yan had been mistreated by Kang Mao Lan for so long and having that proud girl to be the one to make the first move would be impossible.
Creak!
Bao Tu walked in with a basket of fruits. He looked at the people inside and greeted politely. "Mr. Yu, Mrs. Yu, Yu Xin."
"Bao Tu! You're here!" Yu Xin put on the best smile she had as she looked at him, acting as if she was surprised to see him as if she hadn't known about it before.
Bao Tu nodded to Yu Xin and put down the basket of fruit. "I buy you some fruits so that you can get well soon."
"Thank you so much!"
"You don't have to do this!" Kang Mao Lan said that but she still walked forward.
Yu Xin's lips twitched as she really felt that her mother was only going to make her image worse. But fortunately, she noticed that Bao Tu was looking in her direction and not paying attention to her mother.
"Don't worry, Xin'er, there won't be any scar left."
"Yes," Yu Xin responded sweetly.
Bao Tu didn't stay for long. He still had some work to do but he still stayed in the room to chat with Yu Xin.
Kang Mao Lan naturally would not disturb the two of them. She was busy eating the fruits that Bao Tu brought into the room. Her eyes shone with happiness when she saw how happy her daughter was.
On the other hand, Yu Zheng Tong ignored those who were inside the room. He only greeted Bao Tu when he first came with a nod then he returned back to his own business.
He did want to have more connection but Bao Tu's business was practically competitor to his own company. It would only make his own business in peril if Bao Tu's business flourish.
They could collaborate to certain degree but it would not be completely beneficial.
'Did my daughter purposely get close to someone from the same field of work?'
Yu Zheng Tong sighed and no longer thought too much. He nodded to Bao Tu once more when the latter had to leave to finish his own work.
When he was outside, Bao Tu took out his phone and made a call. "Try to get all the security footage of the night in the apartment. Make sure to shut everyone who got involved in the matter."
"Yes, Boss."
