章節 3: Chapter Two
The day begun like any other day; Sammy was still asleep curled up onto my bed. My heart was happy. I got up and went into the kitchen to start some breakfast.
I heard something whisper into my ear, "The battle between good and evil runs through deep choose your path before I choose it for you."
I knew yet again what was wrong with me. These voices got harder to ignore the older that I got. I never told my parents about the voices. I never told Sammy either. It's a battle that I must face on my own.
Sammy finally made her way down the stairs; her hair was tied up in a hot mess. I chuckled "Good morning sleepy head. Are you hungry?"
"Good morning, hell yea I'm hungry! What are you making us for breakfast?"
Sammy chuckled at me for giving her an odd stare.
I turned on the stove, "I'm making sausage, eggs, bacon, and cheese burritos. If you want to help you are more than welcome to help."
Sammy chuckled. "You know that I will burn down the house, right? My cooking skills haven't improved in the last 5 years Maddy."
I softly laughed trying not to drop the food on the floor.
I heard the whispers once again...
"How sweet and innocent can this one be? Can we tint her and make her become wicked?"
I shook my head trying to ignore the voices. I placed the plates onto the table and smiled. I rolled up my burrito and put some salsa onto my plate.
Sammy did the same thing; we were always so similar in the things that we did. How we talked and how we dressed you would think we were sisters. She stood about a head taller than me; I was always the short one. She was this tall beautiful green-eyed blond that everyone adored and then there was me this short hazel dark hair girl who everyone thought was still a child because of how short I was.
I always looked up to Sammy, just like she looked up to me. I'm happy that she came out to visit me, but for how long? That I do not know. I wish I could convince her to move out here, but her family is back home in Arizona.
I cleaned up breakfast and put the dishes away. I ran up the stairs to my room. I grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom. I got undressed and jumped into the shower; allowing the hot water to run down my body.
I got out of the shower and stood in front of the mirror; the mirror was still fogged up from the hot shower. I look closely in the mirror and I swore I could see a face in the mirror. I tried not to scream because I didn't want to freak Sammy out.
I ran into my room; my heart is pounding. In my mind I'm screaming
"What the hell was that?"
I was able to calm down, I got dressed and went downstairs where Sammy was.
"You look like you seen a ghost Maddy." Sammy jokily.
"I might have seen a ghost." I laughed but deep down I knew what I saw. It wasn't a ghost. It was something more wicked then what it seemed like.
"Sammy; when are you leaving?" I asked as I walked out the back door.
"Honestly, I think I'm leaving in a few days. I must get back. You know my parents always worried about me; and plus, they have gotten old and needed help around the house." Sammy spoke harsh as though she didn't want to leave me.
I knew she had to go back home; and yet I had to stay in this shit hole of a town.
The day slowly began to move; Sammy wanted to explore my town. I took Sammy to a few of my favorite spots in town.
I took Sammy out to this lake. It's a gorgeous lake on the other side of town. It takes roughly 20 minutes to drive there.
20 minutes later....
We arrive at the lake, Sammy got out of the car first and I looked in the rear mirror and saw a figure smiling right at me. That figure turned towards Sammy and went to charge at Sammy then disappear like nothing was there.
I started to breathe hard and not to panic. I cannot let anyone know what I see and what I hear.
"I told you we were here to stay. Come to your true calling. Follow us and you follow the path you are meant to live on. We can show you the way just take our hand and we will guide you through hell."
Sammy came to my windows and knocked on. I jumped just a little to where Sammy noticed that I jumped.
"What is wrong? Get out of the car so we can enjoy some of this sunlight before it gets dark." Sammy giggled and danced around in the grass.
I laughed softly it was nice seeing my best friend being free and happy, but deep down inside. Did she really know the real me?
I have struggled and struggled finding the good within the evil and the snares of the devil.
