The tapping stopped and Percy sighed. "I missed about half of it. Stay absolutely quiet in case they try again."

Penelope wiped at her nose with the sleeve of her shirt because it was the only thing she had. She nodded to show she was serious about following his instructions. The wait was agonizing but the tapping started again after a few minutes and Percy furiously wrote down what he heard on his phone. 

His eyes flashed with excitement as he translated the message for her to hear. 'Percy Logan, are you there? Want to switch Penny back. 4 AM Friday now.' 

She clapped her hand over her mouth, overwhelmed with emotion. Her brother—her real brother!—was looking for her. He wanted her back. Someone really had noticed she was gone after all.
