"Fire!" a yellow line shot from one side to the other.
"Protejo!" a man's deep voice invoked the protective incantation that reduced the fire enchantment to nothing.
"Oppugno!" the rocks on the ground rose up and shot towards a student of the dueling club who had no choice but to jump to the side to avoid the blows while another of the students exclaimed loudly as he pointed his wand at a wizard dressed in black.
"Desmaius!" the red light rose up impacting one of the enemy wizards who were bewildered and out of place.
Then to everyone's surprise Anana stood up without the wand in her hand and gave a loud clap "Huripari!" a loud sound wave echoed lifting the wind from the ground in a swirling fashion and sending everyone backwards.
"I want to learn that" William said as he saw the wandless spell attack all the opponents.
"Sure Will, once we get out of here I'll teach it to you, you'll surprise everyone at Hogwarts" they both laughed.
"This is not the time to make plans, if we don't all get out of here alive then the headmistress will murder us, I have no doubt of that."
Moments before all involved were creating plans to avoid direct confrontation with the enemies, but it only took one move for both sides to meet, they tried to reach a dialogue but the greed of human beings is not only present in muggles as many believe.
There was no certainty about the existence of a treasure but an undiscovered ruin in itself meant a treasure.
"Dueling club retreat!" exclaimed Nahuen making everyone start to leave the place at the same time they were returning spells.
Once they retreated and closed the doors to the room they were able to rest their wands for a moment "during the next confrontation we will use the Spartan formation, everyone will use protejo to create small shields capable of blocking powerful spells and we will keep the advantage, then we will crush them using Anana's cyclone and William's Flippendo's."
"William can you see on the other side of the door?"
"They are waiting for us to return to fight and others seem to have retreated in search of the treasure."
"Perfect, we will continue down the pyramid, we are already fighting these treasure hunters, best to get out of this place with profit" with Anana's orders they all moved as one group covering the rear in case of attacks.
Anana's reasoning was in fact impeccable, just by noticing William's actions he knew the nature of his ability and while that surprised William it didn't bother him instead it transformed into a feeling of tranquility, now he could use his mind's eye without excuses.
They ran down the corridor avoiding any obstacle that William indicated, by the time they reached the lowest floor in the pyramid's basement they found a room full of strange items.
"Are these Muggle weapons?" asked one of the members taking in his hands a spear with strange markings.
"There is plenty of gold, with this we will have no problem paying our tuition" the members of the dueling club were happy and began to fill their pockets with gold coins.
"This is why the goblins at Gringotts make such a big deal out of ancient ruins, damn greedy goblins!"
William out of nowhere held out his arm to stop the club members from stepping forward.
"What's going on Will?"
Everyone stopped their movements and stared at the white-haired man who was acting strangely, but since he was their sensor on the expedition then any action from him was important.
William extended his arm to the front and pointed "A snake."
"A snake?" asked Ananna "Is it big?"
"No... it's not one snake, it's many..." William clenched his hands tightly "it's a hydra of the forest".
When William said that the whole room went into a deep silence, even the breaths of the other members of the club could be heard easily. The forest hydra is a little known beast that does not appear in the book of fantastic animals written by Newt Scamander since he himself in an interview acknowledged never having met one of these magical beasts.
But even though this beast is unknown to students from other schools in Castelobruxo is a beast that is talked about enough to terrify the young wizards just entering, supposedly this beast was extinct but William says there is one in the pyramid.
"What did you say?" asked Nahuen
"There is a forest hydra about ten meters away."
"William, describe the hydra, we have to be sure what it is that we are dealing with."
William nodded and opened his mouth again "Three elongated heads with two pairs of fangs on each side, long necks with spines and scales, four legs to move with speed, it has two membranes, one on each side connecting the hind legs to the tail and of course, a tail at least three times the length of the body with a large stinger that drips venom"
"Yes, it's definitely a hydra" Nahuen nodded resigned "we can't fight a beast of such caliber, if the magical ministry classified it then it would be at the top, it would be a XXXXX, deadly, impossible to tame or train. We have to get out of here without attracting their attention."
"Or get their attention to take out our enemies" William said loudly drawing attention again "we just have to flee to where our enemies are, they will either take care of the hydra or the other way around, either way we will be the ones to make it out alive"
"The risks are immense" hesitated Anana looking around at her companions.
"The rest of the options are just as dangerous as this one."
