It was time for Isabella to be stunned and flinch up to look at him. The last thing she thought to be hearing such words from the Emperor’s mouth. Nicholas was a kind person but he would not be this open about his feelings. He would show gratitude to the Empress but to admit to her like this. Isabella always considered this arranged marriage like a business one. She would help him with the alliance with the nobility while he takes care of the throne. This is not the first time he has been soft with her. The moment she had been with him Nicholas had greatly appreciated the position of Isabella in his life.

She thought he cherished her as someone who came to him as his support but to say something like this was out of her brain. “Your Majesty, what are you talking about?”

Nicholas sighs at her words, “First please stop calling me Your Majesty, I am the Emperor but I am your husband first, you could at least call me by name when we are alone.”
