By going to sleep, I was once more in the strange white world, but something about it felt different than last time, as if the blank featureless world had more detail in it, I look around, and just like last time, a few evolution possibilities appear, I see 3 of them now. Upon looking at them, the amount of information i got had increased since last time.
The 1st option was called a "Mortelupes" It was a fox that had a human skull attached to its head, its fur was colored pitch black with the occasional red markings on its sides. That was not all the information I got as I had also gotten a description of it. The Mortelupes is a creature that appears after consuming human remains, it fuses with a compatible human skull throughout its juvenile period until it reaches adulthood where it breaks it off to reveal its complete form. The Mortelupes has powerful necromantic techniques as one that deals with death, as well as a dark affinity. It also looks like that I get to keep any abilities I got before evolving.
Necromancy? Hell no. This option is a complete no go.
The 2nd option was called a "Berserker." It looked like the black fox that appeared last time I evolved, except that this one was larger and with ever more scornful eyes, it had spikes on its body at regular intervals and its claws and fangs looked like they could rip apart a sheet of iron like butter. The Berserker was a unique species that appears to every living being if they experience an event that fills them with burning rage, one that gives into this rage will evolve into the Berserker and will walk to their eventual doom as they continue with their conquest for vengeance. The Berserker had claws sharp enough to cut down a tree easily, fangs sharp enough to cut a man in two, dark affinity techniques and their signature berserking ability.
I kinda liked its combative abilities, yet I was pretty off put by its terrifying looks, yea if I pick this one I am 100% sure I'll be treated as a monster.
I look to the final one hoping that it won't be an ominous one. The final option was called a "Spirivulpes." It looked fairly similar to how I currently looked, except that it was a bit larger, with comma like markings on certain parts of its body and had two tails, it was a species that appeared when a fox with high intellect appeared, its power increases with a higher number of tails with 9 being the highest, the more it evolves, the more tails it can get. It's combative abilities were pretty high, as it could fight both melee and ranged very well, it could use illusions with its light affinity, although this ability is sometimes used for mischief by this species. These creatures can also use a humanoid appearance, although the accuracy of the humanization is relative to its power.
Wow! This one is fantastic, seriously though that sounds like the only good option here, I think that I want to pick the Spirivulpes. Once more, the other evolution options disappear then my consciousness is moved to the new body, from the perspective of my new body, which takes a while to get used to, I see my previous bodies. Then I wake up from this world.
I woke up feeling fantastic, my wounds were healed and I was feeling stronger than ever. My sister had also woken up after sensing my movement, she erupted in excitement and congratulated me.
"Oh yeah, the Spirivulpes has a light affinity like you sister."
"Wow! Erm, what do you mean by spirivulpes?"
"That's the name of the species I evolved into."
"A name? What's that?"
"Its something used to call other things, for example, it's something I will call someone else by."
"Wow, I want a name! Can you give me a name brother?"
"Eh, sure why not."
I sit there pondering for a while for a name for her, she sits there expectantly waiting for a name. Eventually I think of a name for her. A name fitting for all the hope she gave me.
"Alright, how about Nozomi, I think it's a nice name."
"Alright! Hey, hey, let me give you a name brother."
It felt kinda weird having another name, but I didn't really mind so I let her give me one. She sat there pondering with all her might to find a name for me.
"I got it! How about Rai? It sounds like your lightning affinity."
"I think it's also a good name."
She looked happy that she had given me a name, I wait for her to settle down until we can plan where to go to next, we decide to go back to the spider tunnel to complete exploring it then come back to the mines so we can finally exit these tunnels, but before we did that I wanted to test out my new abilities. I tried using the humanization technique that I could use, upon using it I felt my body change, I was now standing on two feet like a human but my body was still exactly like a fox. When they said that the more powerful I get the more accurate it becomes was not a lie, because this was terrible, it couldn't be used at all! Bitterly I remove the technique and I decide to improve it before using it again. Now I decide to test my light affinity, I make an illusion of a goblin and then it appears there, I use light to make a sword with it and surely enough, a sword of light appears, I smash the sword to the ground which makes a clean cut with a length of 4 meters through the stone in the floor. My body was now feeling stronger than ever, and I reckon I could take attacks head on with how tougher my fur and body have gotten. That was it for the basic tests, as I'll have to get in combat to do more advanced tests, and so we set off to the spiders cave.
