章節 54: Chapter 54

Over a week passed since the Battle of Titans as the media dubbed it shook the world. Trillions worth of damages were reported but as the battle spanned over multiple continents, no one knew who to bill for the repairs. Thousands lost their homes and more were either missing or presumed dead.

Now inside an apartment as the news rolled out withs it latest death toll. One of the protagonists of this battle watched as he leaned on the wall. Thanks to overdrafting himself, he spent the first three days in a coma and the last four slowly recovering from his powers burn out.

"Is Felicia still angry?" Jason asked softly.

Since she recognised him on television, he never really got the chance to talk with her. Either she would either reject the call or find an excuse to run away from him. So after the second day he decided to just give her some space.

"No, just conflicted. She feels like you lied and manipulated her, but at the same time didn't." Lala reported. "So she is currently sorting things out at the gym your father recently found.'

"That's good." Jason nodded. "I do wonder why he bought the gym."

"Recently, James was offered a raise per say and basically now in charge of training new and old officers." Liz poked her head into the room. "Something about how the other officers were slacking and were too out of shape."

"Don't they have their own gym?" Jason asked slightly curious.

Shrugging her shoulders, "Who knows, he used his pocket money for the next four months to buy it."

While the money wasn't an issue since everyone's in the family bank accounts puts on new weight everyday. James regulates himself to one or two thousand a month to play around with from going out to eat or buying whatever he finds interesting. If he still has money at the end of the month just tosses the rest into various charities.

"I don't know what goes through his mind sometimes. He is like a child with a new toy." Liz said before walking out. "I'm going to the gym and check it out. So I will be back later."

"So how are you feeling?" Lala asked him.

"About forty percent." Jason replied. "So enough to lift a skyscraper."

Rolling her eyes, Lala still looked at him with concern but didn't comment any further. It just sounded like he was bragging but she didn't doubt he couldn't do it. If he said he couldn't then she would be worried.

"What do you think happened to the Sentry? He hasn't been spotted in the past week." Lala asked.

"I don't know, but it is strange. Did he already retire?"

The media used to report every sighting of the blonde man from rescuing a cat to beating up a few robbers. Now they report there has been no sighting of the man. It was as if he just got up and left to get milk.

"Now on the news, early today there was an attack…"

--

In a floating fortress known as the helicarrier. Nick Fury frowned as he looked over a file. In his hands, Jasons' and Lalas' files and all their documents were present. From them and pieces of information Agent Hill and Carol gave him, he knew who they were but no way to recruit them. One was the princess whose father could easily invade or destroy the planet. While Jason on the other hand could easily destroy or wipe out anyone as there is no known weakness.

Tapping his finger, he was at a loss as he couldn't earn their favor as he didn't have anything they needed or could get his hands on it. So recruiting them into the Avengers wasn't a current option. Placing the file into a locked drawer, he turned his attention to the more pressing matter.

On screen, it showed a man in his late to early thirties with a robotic arm and mask. His hair was long, matching his outfit as he fought his way down the street. It was from the attack earlier today on Steve Rogers.

"This is going to be a pain to deal with."

Nick Fury felt a headache coming on.

--

As a few months passed by and Jason returned to full strength and began acting out in the open. It wasn't so smooth in both regards of being a hero to his relationships. While Felicia did come around, he learned he sucks at balancing his work as a podcaster, hero and personal life. More than once he ducked out early at dinner to rescue a plane or some natural disaster, which neither woman blamed him but he didn't feel good about it.

On the other hand, the world's response to him was mixed. Some loved him for all his work saving or they hated him for being an alien or not saving their relatives and friends. Some of which have been dead for twenty or more years. There was even a demand he turned himself in for all the destruction he caused when he fought the Void.

"Is it me or has he been putting on some muscles lately?" Felicia asked Lala.

While Jason was currently cooking up hamburgers for lunch. The two were finishing setting up the table. Staring at his back, he had grown a little taller and bulked out a bit more since they first met him.

"I can't say I don't like it." Lala smiled a little.

"Oh, so I'm not the only one to notice."

"It's kind of hard to miss." Lala retorted. "Especially in the shower."

Felicia just shook her head since she agreed with that statement.

"I hope you're not talking bad about me." Jason smiled as he placed down the plate of burgers.

"Of course we are," they both replied happily.

Rolling his eyes at them as he took his seat. He just gave them a smile as he loaded up his four burgers. He was a growing boy after all and ate a lot.
