章節 23: AND SHE FOUND OUT
LOIS' POV
I woke up optimistic today, I was in a very light mood. It was finally a full house, everyone packed in yesterday. Oliver showed everyone to their rooms and the men made themselves comfortable in the boys quarters.
Truth be told, I was still suprised. I couldn't believe we were in a situation like this, I thought of how much things had changed in my life within a short while. Being part of a Mafian family was a lot to digest, but I was trying my best.
I joined Paige and her mum, to set the dinning table for breakfast. I hummed happily as we worked together, while Paige used the opportunity to catch up on different stuff. I thought of Oliver and a smile curled up my face. He was fast becoming the center of my world, my happiness.
I had made up my mind, I was gonna tell him that I had fallen in love with him today. Wow!! I and Oliver had come this far, and I was married!! A lot of things had really happened. Yes, I was gonna tell him.
"And why are you smiling, if I might ask" Paige asked with a naughty smile on her face.
"Hmmm nothing" I replied
"You sure? Maybe it has something to do with my boss you know"
"Oh it has everything to do with him" I laughed out loud
"Hmmmm I think it's a good news then" she looked so happy "How long gone? I'm soooooo excited. I want it to be a boyyy" she squealed. I was confused at first, until my brain clicked. I laughed so hard.
"Oh no! Paige, that's not the case. I'm not pregnant" I whispered the last part.
"Oh no?" she replied also in a low voice.
"Yeaaah, like we've not done it" I said a bit shy.
"woooh! You guys haven't?" I nodded and then I heard Harriet's voice
"Yes, they haven't, and I honestly wonder why"
"Harrieth!!!"
"What? Please you guys should work on it as soon as possible. I want nephews and nieces running around"
Before I would give a reply, they were already coming down for breakfast. Everyone looking so good, or was it me?
"Good morning Everyone!"
"Morning babyyy" Aunt Ashley cooed.
"Good morning mom" Harrieth greeted Aunt Ashley.
"Hello my love. How was your night?"
"Fine" She replied. More people came downstairs as we all exchanged pleasantries.
"Hmmmm smells good" Mom commented.
"Really does Aunt" Matthew replied as he adjusted his wife's napkin on her neck. Sofiah walked into the dining room.
"How was your night, Sofiah?" Mum and Aunt Ashley asked at the same time.
Sofiah smiled as she replied
"My night was well. Hope y'all slept well" she looked around
"Yeah, we all did" Mom replied.
Uncle Luca had been weirdly silent all the while, until he spoke up.
"Sofiah" She looked at him and gave a curt nod. What's up with them?
"Where's my baby boy? Where's Oliver?" Aunt asked.
"Here I am, Ma'am" Oliver gracefully descended down the stairs as he walked up to where his mom sat, and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning Mom. Good morning everyone" Oliver greeted.
"Morning" They all replied
Oliver walked up to where I was still standing, and without warning and placed a chaste kiss on my head, as he hugged me.
"Morning Babe" He smiled down at me, who was already blushing furiously. "How was your night?" He breathed on my face, smelling of fresh mint.
"Awwww" "How sweet!!" "Oh wow!"
So many sweet words were said, which made me blush deeper, and made Oliver smile.
"Good morning Olly, I had a nice night. How about you?"
"It was great, but dulled up, when I woke up without you by my side. Where were you?" He whispered to only my hearing.
"Had to go for an early morning jog and help Paige with the breakfast preparation" I replied.
"Oh! Alright then. What's for breakfast"
"come see" I replied, as we had our seat, said a prayer and started munching on our meal"

The day had been going smoothly and it was noon already and we had eaten lunch. Everyone was busy, since we had to work from home. Harrieth had been walking around answering different calls. It's like there was an emergency at the hospital.
Well, I was free because my 4 weeks leave was going to be up by the end of the week. I walked into the sitting room to see Justin gazing at the screen of his laptop with all seriousness, and furiously typing on the poor keyboard. Justin was a computer engineer/analyst.
Our parents, Uncle Luca and Sofiah were playing board games. Oliver was still upstairs, also working on his laptop. Harrieth was finally done with her call and walked over to meet me.
"Hey sweetie"
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"Nothing much, just a complicated issue in the hospital. They needed a little help, so..."
"Oh, alright. Have you seen Jake today?"
"Nah" she replied uninterested.
"Okay. Let's chat then" I suggested
"Yeah right!" Her face lit up immediately. I honestly didn't like what was going on between she and Jake. They definitely didn't need a shrink to make them realize that they were into each other
"So what was all the lovey dovey with Oliver, this morning, about?" she smiled naughtily.
"Oh please, he's my husband remember?"
"Wow! Someone has never been so happy to have a husband now, has she?"
"Well, Spoiler alert, she is" I replied
"Tell me, are you two in love?"
"Well, honestly, I think I have fallen for your brother. I don't even know how or when, but I just know he's all I think about, all I dream of. He's all I want Harrieth" Harrieth looked suprised all through the time I talked.
"Wow, this is like the best news I've heard today. You know, when you spoke about your make out sessions and kisses, I had a feeling you were falling for him. I'm just so excited. You see, the whole marriage deal worked out pretty well"
"But I'm scared, what if Oliver doesn't feel the same way for me? What if he's still into Eva?"
"Calm down, Lois. I know that Oliver loves you, I'm so sure about it. He has always loved you anyways" She looked so sure and I had a feeling that there was something I didn't know.
"How do you mean?
"I know from childhood, that Oliver has...." There was a sudden interruption from an all to familiar voice. Eva.
"Good afternoon everyone" she said in a chirpy voice. How the fuck did she get in here?
"What the hell are you doing here, you sly woman!?" Aunt Ashley barked, as she stood up from her seat, and walked towards Eva leaving our suprised parents behind.
"Hey Mom" She replied
"What gave you the audacity to call me that?" I walked over to where Aunt stood.
"Aunt, be calm. I can handle it" I whispered, and then turned to Eva. The whole family's attention were now on us.
"Eva, what do you want. What are you doing in my house?"
"Calm down Lois, I didn't come for you, I came for My Olly" She smirked.
I didn't know when I lost it, and in no time my hand rested on her cheek.
Everyone was shocked. Dad stood up and walked to meet me.
"You won't address my husband as such, in my house, you slut!" I growled. Dad held my arm and pulled me back.
"Be calm Lois" Eva raised her face, gently put her hair behind her ear and smirked.
"Miss Jones, you need to leave now" Dad stated calmly.
"Fine, I'll leave. That's after I pass a message to your lovely daughter here" she turned to me
"Just know I will have him back. He was originally mine, and nobody else's"
"Oh please, shut up and get out!! My son would never stoop so low" Aunt Ashley replied.
"Yes, so just leave" I warned
"Oh really? Well just for your information, Olly and I made love, a week before your supposed honeymoon!! So much love and respect for you huh?"
There was a long silence in the house, as I heard what I knew could shatter my heart for life. Olly was still in love with Eva. He never stopped.
"Babe?" I looked to see Oliver calling me, looking so tensed and guilty. It was true, what Eva said was true.
"At some point, I couldn't hear what anyone was saying anymore. Just this echoes going through my head. The next minute Oliver was in front of me.
"Babe, babe! Babe please listen to me" he held my arm, which I dislodged immediately.
"Don't! Don't touch me. I... I.." I heaved a sigh. I couldn't control the tears. It poured out heavily. I looked to see Oliver on his knees.
"Babe, please listen to me. I can explain. I beg of you please" At that point, the only person I could see was Oliver, every other thing was non existent.
"You know, I thought things could work between us, but you know what?" I asked admist my tears. "I.. I.. I was wrong"
I walked away as I thought of nothing. My head was blank, and so was my heart.
