Danny continued to fume as the hours passed. By the time they reached the bottom of the mountain, night had fallen. It was evidently faster for them to travel down than up. Catherine couldn't tell if that was because both of them were deep in thought, or if it truly was less strenuous. The rocks still hurt under her blistered feet, but she was getting used to it. Holding onto the staff helped too. She felt like a regular relic hunter strolling along with it in her hands.
