章節 146: Let's Catch Up

Alexis was standing inside the memorial hall of the base. The names of the fallen soldiers that died in the battles between the IGT Fed and the others were engraved on black slates inside that memorial hall. It was a way to pay respect to the dead for their sacrifice for the greater good, and to immortalize their memory.

She was staring at a particular name and she whispered, "So your name was Gerald."

Alexis went quiet for some time. She was reminded of how Gerald had taken his last breath while lying in Alexis's arms. The guilt of not being transparent with her team members was enveloping her all over again. 

"I am sorry that you died while saving me. And I never got to thank you while you were still alive. Thank you for protecting me! I don't believe in reincarnations but if you are going to reincarnate then make sure that you don't ever meet me again. You will live longer that way."
