"So now, you're back with Charlos?" asked Nicholas when Charlos had gone some distance.

"Yes, I think so." Rissa shrugged her shoulders

"Aren't you afraid that something else might happen to you?" Nick's gaze was accusing as if Rissa had committed a criminal act.

"Something like what?" challenged Rissa.

"I don't know. You could be in danger again. Mom never approved of your relationship with him either. "

"Listen! When my mom married your dad, they never asked my permission! So now, that I'm with Charlos, I don't have to ask anyone's permission!"

Nicholas narrowed his eyes, his hands folded across his chest.

"That's different," he said calmly. "My dad never had a problem with anyone that he had to kidnap and torture mom. Your problem is definitely more serious. He's gay, Rissa."
