章節 23: Before the Sleepover...

"I really hope that it won't be a problem
Cup Cake Darling." Said Rarity as she held her hoof over the shoulder of her little sister.
"Oh Cupkaces No! We'll be delighted to look after them! That would be just the perfect experience for us if we ever try to have our own foals someday, haha! You have no reason to worry Rarity." Replied Mrs. Cake with assurance.
"Oh, thank you so much! I was really worried that I won't be able to find anypony to look after them. My parents couldn't come back in time, and I promised Starfall that someone would be at home to look after Spike and Sweetie Bell."Said Rarity with a sigh of relief.
"Hey! We can totally stay alone Rarity! We aren't foals!" Said Sweetie Bell with a huff making Mrs. Cake giggle.
Rarity just patted her head lightly so as not to destroy her hairstyle and patiently explained.
"Oh. I know that Sweetie. Both of you are very capable and independent but that is not the main issue. Starfall and Twilight left Spike under my care and made me responsible for his safety. I can't just leave you two alone because who knows what might happen." She lifted her hoof stopping Sweetie Bell from commenting. "And I'm not talking about you two doing something bad. I mean something like a burglar or a monster attack. If something happened because of my negligence, I wouldn't be able to look Starfall nor Twilight in the eyes. Do you understand?" Rarity explained making Sweetie Bell reluctantly nod in understanding.
It were those adult responsibilities, and Rarity always made sure to explain stuff like this to her so that she could understand.
"Alright then." Rarity turned to her confectioner friend and said." So, when can I expect you at the boutique?..."

Apple Bloom was trotting through the town in a happy mood. Despite her yesterday's prolonged basket torture, she was actually grateful to her sister now...
Because they finished with the set up for the Applebucking Season early, she now had an entire weekend of free time that she was yet to figure out how to spend!
Her idea was to just have a walk around Ponyville and look at the other Ponies, or visit the Sugar Cube Corner, but as she was about to choose her next objective, her eyes landed on a certain dragon and filly duo.
She recognized Spike who she first met during the Summer Sun Celebration and later when she visited the library. He was the first ever dragon she met and she blushed remembering her little over the top greetings. Thankfully he turned out to be a cool guy and didn't really mind her reaction.
The pony beside him looked familiar and it didn't took her long to recognize her.
It was her classmate Sweetie Bell! She never spoke with her too much but the two of them seemed to be in a quiet good relationship.
Apple Bloom thought about it for a while before realizing that both of their older sisters were actually friends! Maybe she should try and get to know her?
With that thought, Apple Bloom approached the duo and waved to them in greetings.
"Hia there Spike! Sweetie Bell!" She said as she trotted to the duo who turned to her surprised.
"Oh! Hey Apple Bloom. Fancy seeing you here." Said Spike with a smile.
Apple Bloom couldn't help but blush at the cute, friendly dragon. they barely knew each other, and yet he greeted her so familiarly.
"Oh Hello! Hey aren't we in the same class?" Said Sweetie Bell recognizing the other Filly through her countryside accent.
"That we are! Name's Apple Bloom! I don't think that we ever spoke more than a few words though, haha!" She said a little shyly, realizing the awkwardness of the situation.
Sweetie Bell giggled realizing that they indeed never had a proper conversation despite being in the same class for over a year.
"You're right now that i think about it. How weird...*giggle*"She said, and Apple Bloom realized that the small white unicorn had a rather likeable character. Maybe they could be friends?
Spike looked at the girls and then an idea struck him.
"Hey Apple Bloom, we were just about to go and have some fun on the playground. You wanna join us?" He asked, thinking that the more the merrier...
Apple Bloom couldn't hide her grin as she quickly nodded her head.
She always wanted to have friends but she was never much of a popular pony in school because of her accent, so since such an opportunity presented itself she would never turn it down!...

The two fillies and a dragon had a lot of fun today and Apple Bloom couldn't hide her happiness. Sweetie Bell was so nice! And she really liked to spend time with Spike. She really hoped that the three of them could become friends.
She also met another filly called Scootaloo that was also someone from their class, but regretfully she was in a hurry at that time and couldn't stay to play with them.
But the short introduction that Spike had given her was enough to tell Apple Bloom that she was also a nice pony.
She was surprised when she learned that Spike was having a sleepover at Sweetie Bell's, and all of them found it funny when they realized that the reason for that situation was actually their caretakers having a sleepover of their own at the Library...
Apple Bloom actually wanted to ask if she could join them, but realized that they were still not close enough and their Sisters might not give their consent on such a short notice.
When they were parting after a few hours of having fun, Apple Bloom came to a single conclusion...She needed to become their friend! They were both so fun and nice and...and...and why should she even have a reason to make more friends in the first place?!...

Scootaloo was in a hurry...
Featherweight had just told her that Rainbow Dash was racing some random Pegasus in the Town center and she would be damned if she missed his humiliation.
She was just a few streets away and she could almost hear the voices of the crowd but she suddenly stopped when she saw her friend Spike in the company of two familiar fillies.
"Hey Spike! And hey uhh..." She greeted the dragon and stumbled when she tried to recall the names of the two girls beside him.
"Hey Scootaloo! Meet Sweetie Bell and Apple Bloom. Girls. This is Scootaloo." Spike introduced the three fillies and they exchanged greetings, and laughed at the fact that they were actually in the same class.
"Hey Scootaloo! We were just about to visit the playground. You wanna join us?" Asked Sweetie Bell eager to make new friends. Spike clearly liked the orange pegasus, so she would happily invite her to play with them.
Scootaloo instantly became conflicted. She really wanted to join Spike and those girls, but She only had a single free hour, and Rainbow Dash was about to have her race!
She decided to be honest with them and hoped that they would understand.
"I'd love to join you guys, but I have to be back home in an hour, as my aunts are coming to to check up on me, and Rainbow Dash is having a race in the Town Center. I just can't miss it, you know? But I'd be happy to join you on another Date how's bout that?" She explained and Spike just smiled at her.
"It's cool. I know how much you like Rainbow Dash, Scoots. Do you have time tomorrow? Maybe we could all go together and have some ice cream?" He proposed and Scootaloo instantly perked up.
"Yes! I'd love that very much!" She exclaimed and then heard loud shouts coming from behind her.
"Whoops! gotta go! The race seems to be about to start! See ya tomorrow Spike, Sweetie Bell, Apple Bloom!" She exclaimed before dashing away on her scooter.
