Darkness. That was his first thought seeing his new surrounding. Yet a closer look revealed it wasn't truly darkness. Darkness was an absence of light. Light was not absent here, no. Light did not belong here. As such, darkness could not belong here either. This was something else, something deeper. It wasn't a lack of light, it was a lack of substance of any kind. No mass, no matter. Nothing.
Yes, this was nothing. That felt like the right answer. This time the feeling came from his body. Not his soul, not the symbol, not his mind. His body was telling him as if it was aware of the existence of nothing. Or well, technically the lack of existence itself.
Space was his next thought, did he eat the flower and was then teleported into outer space? No, he knew space was empty but it was not nothing. There was a stray atom here and there scattered through space. This place had nothing. This place was nothing.
