章節 82: I want to misunderstand

"Oh, so charming!" everyone gasped as their eyes dilated, terrified. Did they hear a woman's voice complimenting their boss? Not that it was unusual that Lewis' got a compliment with his dashing looks, but what was unusual was he was video calling someone in the middle of the meeting! 

"Greetings, Assistant Wang!" Devon greeted politely as she caught Derek's figure on the side. Derek sported a weak smile — it was barely even called a smile — and then he beckoned a neck bow.

Lewis cleared his throat. "Why did you want to see me?" 

"Well…" Devon pursed her lips in a thin line. "I just thought you left this morning… without us resolving things."

'This morning…' were the exact thoughts of everyone. They were torn between listening or have an attempt to cover their ears. This conversation felt it was something they shouldn't listen to.
