章節 19: The day is here
Sota woke up still tired the day of his first official Chakra training. He went through all his plans dozens of times and maybe got 2 hours of sleep last night. His 5 birthday is still a couple of weeks away but the instructors announced a month ago that because of orders from the village they would push the training forward. That shocked Sota really, because normally they would follow the timeline strictly until he was able to overhear from some guards that the 2nd ninja war broke out. He already knew roughly which timespan he was in, because of Mei, but now he knew that naruto would be born in 13 years and the main canon starts in 25. This information really didn't help him in this situation but he at least knows to look out for certain events.
After finishing breakfast they were ordered to go to their usual training field. He saw Mei and knew from her looks that she also didn't sleep a lot. They waited for a while and a couple people came, more than usual. Normally there were the two instructors and another two helpers who Sota had no idea what their actual job was. Now there were a total of 9 people. The 4 fromally mentioned were under them. They walked in front of the group and one of them, which Sota had never seen before, stepped in front of them.
(Shinobi): "Hello, you're probably wondering why there are this many people here. That is because today you will take a serious step towards supporting the village. We hope you will become the elites and will use your given strength to defend the country. We have here three council members who are here for inspection and will look over your training in the next weeks. Let me introduce them: Elder *****, Jonin Commander **** and from the representative from the clan council elder Kamado Terumi. If you can impress one of them you will go with them back to the village and will receive special training."
Sota forgot to breathe from that.
(Sota's thoughts): "I now know how Mei got out of this. As soon as we would have started this training they would have easily spotted her talent. It's going to be fun to see their reactions."
After the speech from the leader the instructors told them to sit down and try to feel the Chakra in their bodies. Then they should try to manipulate it at all. They should inform them as soon as they are able to do it. Mei and Sota technically feel their Chakra every second and don't need to concentrate on it anymore. Of course they both would not show any signs until a good amount of other kids were able to do it.
So the next hours were the most boring ones Sota had. He couldn't even do any Chakra control exercise because he was 100% sure all the adults around would watch for them to manipulate Chakra, even to the smallest bit.
It took a little bit more than 2 hours for the first kid to raise his hand and another one followed 30 minutes later.
(Sota's thoughts): "Oh my god…. Please guys, it's soooooo boring. We have 20 kids here with me. So after 10 I am going to sign off, I just hope Mei is pestiend enough...."
And so hours and hours went by…. and finally after hour 6 and half the 10th stood up. Sota got ready, but still waited five minutes. He raised his hand and the instructor came and placed his hand over him. Sota then, like instructored nearly 7 hours ago, pushed a bit on his Chakra to show that he wasn't lying.
(Instructor): "Barely passable, go now back and try to hold on the feeling as long as you can. Tomorrow we are going to continue this."
While he walked off the training field, he looked over to Mei and saw that she also raised her hand now. His view changed towards the three special guests. All of them were talking to each other and having what looked like an afternoon tea. Nobody was looking at him but as soon as the Terumi elder realised that Mei finished he looked over to the clock and silently shoke his head.
(Sota's thoughts): "So he was just here for her, when he knew that Mei took like less than 1 hour to do this he would try to get her back a.s.a.p."
He walked off the field with a smile on his face. This was the first time he would have influenced the general story in a big way.

The next few days were spent doing the same thing. Of course everyone was able to improve their time. The instructor told them that they are going to go to the next stage as soon as everybody is able to do a light Chakra rotation exercise in less than 10 minutes. The first one to finish in less than 10 minutes was after 4 days. Most of them followed on the 5 and 6 day.
On day 7 they were again on the training field and like the first day a lot of spectators were here today. Sota knew instantly that it was time to once again fool everybody.
(Shinobi): "Today we are going to check what types of affinities have and if you have any Kekkei Genka. Anybody with more than 2 will get special training and 3 will leave with our guest back next week."
Sota could see the Terumi clan elder stare at Mei. He became a little bit annexious. There was not a 100% chance that they could fool the Chakrapaper. Sota and Mei have thought long about which affinities they show. Sota talked Mei out of showing Fire because even if she would hold back a lot there is a chance that the reaction could be too violent. So they settled on that they would only show 2 but if everybody had more they would show 3.
The first one got called forward. The Shinobi gave him a piece of paper and instructed him to flow his Chakra in it. The kid picked up the piece of paper and a second later it split in half and one of the halfs caught fire. Sota looked over to the guests watching and all of them showed any reactions.
(Sota's thoughts): "So two affinities is what they expect."
The next one got called. One half of the paper caught fire and the other side was dripping down water. The next one only showed an affinity with Earth and Sota was able to see an unpleasant face on the guests' faces. Their faces turned better when the next one's paper split in two where one side crumbled away and the other one wrinkled.
After another 4 it was Sota's time. Before walking in front of everyone he turned to Mei and saw that she had a worrying face. Arriving by the Shinobi, the men didn't even say anything and just held the paper in front of him. Sota grabbed the paper and channeled Wind and Lightning Chakra into it. His heart was beating so hard but he did not want to break his concentration for even a moment. After what felt like years for Sota, the paper split in half and one side wrinkled. Sota breathed out in relief and walked back to his position.
It followed another 7 kids where only one showed 3 affinities. Then one out of Mei's group walked forward and surprised everyone. His paper split in half where the one half in his grumbled to dust and the one falling to the ground were catching fire on the one side and the other side was clearly wet which held the fire back. All the guests were looking excited and rumbling was breaking out between them.
(Shinobi): "Congratulations, tomorrow you will be already moved to one of the sleeping quarters of their ship."
After that nothing special happened, only 2 others showed 3 affinities. Mei was the last one. She arrived before the Shinobi and got her paper. Sota for the first time in his new life started to prey.
(Sota's thoughts): "Please to God, Kaguya or Jashin only two and not Water and Fire!"
A couple of dreadful seconds later Mei's paper split in two and only one side crumbled away. The side still in her hand remained unchanged. After recovering a couple of breaths Sota started to calm down.
Sota looked over to the Terumi elder. Clear resentment towards Mei was on him.
(Sota's thoughts): "Probably something along the lines of 'the women got pregnant by an enemy and then produced a kid without our Kekkei Genkai' was the old men thinking."
Sota started to smile a bit now.
(Sota's thoughts): "The only thing left now is to get out of this place after they teach us actual techniques!"

when i got the notifcation yesterday, i was actually shooked. Not even one month, honestly if it were only 1000 views i would have been surprised. Hope you contiune to enjoy my rambling of a story, shitty grammer and the times were auto correct changes grabbed to crapped!
