Hailey stared at me with her slow, creeping smirk. I did not know why I had said that but I meant it when I called her a friend. There was something inside me that begged to open up. "What friendship?" Hailey asked low enough that the conversation was only between us. None of the members of the clan dared to listen to the exchange.
"The one you initiated," I replied, "because I am your rival, an opponent of worth ain't I?"
Hailey hummed while her lips twisted to hold back her smirk, "true about the opponent part but aren't you being too delusional about the friendship?"
