I kicked Zak's leg where she couldn't see me doing it and gave him the 'do not fuck with me glare'. He sighed long and hard like I was disturbing his peace or some shit.

"Shh." I almost knocked him out the damn chair. And when she looked back and forth between the two of us I had to smile and pretend I didn't want to wring her father's damn neck for being an ass.

The fucker grinned at me. He knew what he was doing. None of us knew too much about kids, but we were all convinced this one was the smartest of the bunch. One mention of Victoria-Lyn and she'd know what I as up to.
