"Are you sure you're coming?" Amethyst asked.
She was sent home last night by Slate after their dinner, then he appeared in front of her door step this morning.
Though it is not exactly morning since the time was already eleven.
He had told her, he will join her in going to Northern Blossom.
"Scarlet asked me to go, she said she'd rather I accompany you than her looking at my face," he said with a shrug.
"Then, can you wait for a bit? I'll just prepare," Amethyst answered.
She was no longer adamant on taking his time, it was no longer a good thing to keep on rejecting their offers.
"Coffee or tea?" she asked as she went to her kitchen.
"Coffee is fine."
At the same time, Slate was getting used on being with her that he too has no more qualms in accepting her offers.
Despite it not yet a year or even half a year, the connection between Scarlet and Amethyst allowed her and Slate to become at ease with one another.
"What time do you plan to go?" he asked her afterwards.
"I plan on going around 3 pm. I want to see it during the sunset," she informed him.
He looked at the time and saw that it was still early.
"Do you want to eat something? Since we are here, I can cook a few things but not as complicated as what you can do."
Slate thought for a bit before standing up, "Let me cook, while you go and get change."
Amethyst smiled, "I won't decline such a wonderful offer then. But I don't know what kind of dish you can make with the ingredients in there."
"I can check," he shrugged.
She shrugged as well before the two of them turned to the directions they are supposed to go to.
After they have decided to use each other's given name, they felt a different connection with one another.
Slate does not feel any awkward feeling or repulsive feelings towards her, unlike the other girls. While Amethyst felt at ease towards him despite him being a man and her not truly having too much interactions with men.
Must be because of Scarlet that connected the two of them, and the fact that they didn't looked at one another as opposite sex person but simply as a person they can rely on.
Her, on the fact that she would fall sick while him, on the fact that she can help Scarlet.
"You really are a great cook, this is just too delicious," she complimented as they eat their late lunch.
Late because it was already half past one when they settled down on the dinning table.
"Your compliments won't bring you anywhere," he answered.
She just chuckled before she continued eating in silence.
As they wait for the time to leave, they decided to watch the TV.
"We got the chance to actually interview miss Emerald Evans also known as Astral, regarding her new work."
This was the news that welcomed them after they opened the TV.
Slate glanced at her but didn't say anything.
Emerald has long black hair but all in all, she has some resemblance with Amethyst.
As she speak, Amethyst sighed, "In the end, she will still be using that unfinished story."
"You had an unfinished story?"
She smiled sadly, "Something I regret leaving behind. I could have finished that but then I actually told her how I wanted to make it flow and the end of it."
"..."
Slate could only listen silently.
"But I am wondering how she will do it," Amethyst once again said after taking a deep breath.
There is no point in trying to worry more about the past.
She has decided to move forward and live the present while looking forward for the future, staying coped up in the past was long over due for her.
Then she noticed the look he was giving her, it was not pity but sadness. It wasn't too visible but because she was still sensitive, she can see it.
"Don't look like that, I just feel bad for the story and nothing more," was her answer.
"I am not looking at you in any particular way," Slate returned his eyes on the television.
The two of them watched until the time for them to leave arrived, the interview wasn't over yet but Amethyst gave her sister one final look before turning o fthe television and leaving her unti with Slate.
"Do you not plan on exposing them?"
She was stunned to hear Slate ask about it while they were driving.
He must have thought hard about whether to ask or not but ended up asking anyway.
She sighed, "I don't want to. The novel world isn't as easy as everyone else thinks. You can write a story someone told you but how that story will flow? If you write it and when that person who came up with the story writes it, I think there would be some great difference in expressing it."
Then she looked at him, "That is why sooner or later she will realize that the fame she was having now will slowly disappear because I know for a fact that she has no talent when it comes to writing."
Slate glanced at her, "You are a silent one when it comes to revenge aren't you?"
"Revenge? It may be but I just didn't want to tire myself when it comes to dealing with them when in the first place I have no desire to see them again," she replied full of resolution.
Slate no longer said anything and focused on driving.
"I really want some coffee," after a while Amethyst said.
This I sone thing she was able to do now with Slate, she could tell him what she wants with ease and without being shy about it.
"A convenience store is up ahead, we can stop there," he answered.
"Why the sunset?" after returning to the road, Slate asked her.
"I don't know, I just felt like the sunset is the best one to see," she replied.
"Because you both felt it to be a good place for the ending?" he asked again.
"Maybe, may not be. But how should I put it? Hmmm instinct? I just felt that I must see it during the sunset."
Slate nodded his head, there are times he would also try to ask his sister how she comes up with her stories but just like how Amethyst answered now, she gave that subtle reply where those who rarely writes or never wrote before would understand.
But the glisten in their eyes were there, that the stories was just there, they can feel them, they can imagine them and that is how they were born.
How those beautiful stories were born.
"We just love the stories and that is how they came to be," Scarlet once said to him.
When it is your passion, you just can do everything with your utmost capability.
"I want to thank you again," soon he once again said.
Amethyst looked at him.
"Thank you for supporting my sister and coming back to help her."
Her lips parted very lightly before she smiled at him, "She is helping me as well, you really don't have to thank me."
