Chapter 10: Mythic
After her brother went to take a bath, Nana opened the laptop and instantly clicked on the social media app.
She sent a friend request to her brother's friend, then stared anxiously at the screen with her eyes trembling a little, 'How should I begin the talk? If I follow my feelings, then this woman knows about my big brother's unique class.'
Nana was one hundred percent sure that Venomous knew it. If she were to begin the conversation about the class and then tried to somehow change Venomous' thinking, then it would only confirm things.
That was why Nana decided on a different approach to help her brother.
"I am Michu's sister," Nana typed on the keyboard after Venomous accepted the friend request.
Even after accepting it, Nana couldn't see any photos, information, or posts from Venomous. It meant that this woman was kinda secretive or just didn't like to appear on social media at all…
But her young heart just kept getting more cautious.
"Why did I add you? Because you are suspicious!" Nana began to read out loud the Venomous Lady's question and even answered using her voice. Fortunately, her hands didn't actually type that.
She bit her lips and typed, "I know what you are thinking. You must be pretty frustrated, don't you?"
A little sister aimed to use her knowledge to control Venomous.
Her knowledge about Michu's class, flexibility, and possible routes.
Venomous managed to meet the lucky player, but he hadn't told her much! There was a huge chance he would just spend some time with her and just leave for another adventure!
In a sense, it would be the best to hug the potential player and leech off anything possible.
Nana was sure that Venomous felt good inside about her finding.
"Hehe, you don't know what I am talking about? Me too." Nana laughed. She then said out loud what her hands began to type, "A world of freedom, or so they say! But if we look at all the classes, they are pretty limited. This doesn't concern Michu! If you want to have a strong member in your guild, then you must help him and not just leech off!"
Nana felt like she said too much, but was there any other way? She had also been a lady without much contact with others due to her poverty. How many times did people point their fingers at her and Michu because their clothes were from cheap stores?
How many times did parents tell their children to not play with them?
Nana had little contact with others and bravely typing with another person was too nerve-wracking.
But Nana had the nerve!
"Legendary or Mythic Class? Eh? What is she talking about?" Nana hasn't heard about her brother's class grade.
She typed on the search bar and soon got the answer.
[The Four Leaf World Class Grades!]
[Common - Just like the items, a class with such grades is widely used by the majority of players. At the beginning you become the owner of a common class.]
[Unique - Unique class or subclass usually has one special trait or spell that can be developed into Gold Class.]
[Gold - It's usually developed from the unique class. It allows flexibility and self-creation to one's skills. The inheritors of the gold class usually get quests to get the previous owner's skills, then they develop those and self-create. The top-ranking ladder is mostly filled with golden class players.]
[Epic - Epic Class is the new concept and law. The first player to get this class is known as Sky Sword. He was obsessed with the idea of flying on a sword and through various quests and challenges managed to get Epic Class - Flying Sword Master. He uses sword intent, not magic or wind magic, to make his swords float. This feat astonished all established swordsmen, both players, and NPCs, and he became the prime example of Epic Class.]
[Legendary - Everything can become a legend. There are three legendary players known on the top ranking, but they haven't disclosed much information. One thing that was spotted on one legendary player was that he lost his level when he became the legend. All of those players must have lost their levels, but their return to the top ladder was quick and easy. Their legendary skills top over everyone!]
[Mythic - No information available.]
"B-big brother!" Nana rushed to her bathroom doors, then smashed her fist on it.
The cold water stopped and Michu asked from the other side, "What's wrong?!" He shouted loudly, but Nana reassured him that she just had a question.
She said, "You must have seen something next to your class! A grade! What grade is it?!"
"Grade?" Michu pondered. Did he really see something next to his cool Monkey God class? He thought deeply then said, "Ah, I remember! Something lame as Mythic! Hehe! The Monkey God sounds so much better than it!"
"..."
-
"Your sister said that I am a very lucky person," Venomous and Michu reunited in the game the next day.
Michu just laughed as he said, "She wants you to treat me better! Hehe! Nana is really nice, so two can also become good friends!"
Venomous' green eyes looked at him deeply, "Why is she not playing the game with you?"
"We can't play together because we got only one VR Capsule," Michu didn't want to hide this fact. Because people often changed their view of him based on his family situation, he often said what his life looked like.
Venomous didn't press further and this pleased Michu's heart.
She also didn't seem to have any thoughts.
Instead, the duo already set up on the quest, "You need arable land, don't you?"
"Yes, that's what I need!" Michu knew that his sister did all the talks and nodded brightly. But before any talks about the farm progressed, Michu pointed out Venomous' level.
She was already level 8 which was so shocking!
"You level up fast!" Michu smiled.
Their first time hunting together wasn't so swift because Monkey God's Bonk was so powerful nor because Michu had a sense of fighting.
It was also because Venomous knew how to hold a sword and albeit her class was normal, she had enough confidence and skills to keep up pace with him.
If Nana knew, then she would've been speaking with her a little differently…
"Thanks," She replied briefly, "If I have to guess, then you are busy with your school?"
She had a lot of time to play or so it seemed.
Michu had his responsibilities and school was one of them. The young man also had to help his family and often did all tasks that required physical strength.
But Michu had no plans for next year, "I think I will play this game if everything turns out great! Hehe."
"If I want to have you as my guild member, then it's my job to make sure you can play as long as possible. A stable income is just part of it." Venomous spoke big words, then the duo resumed their talk about the farm.
"We will go far, far away to the north," Venomous said.
"What's here?"
"A land that you can get, of course. But for that, we will have to pray for a lot of luck."
"If we work hard, then we will be able to do it!"
"We will see."
Thanks for reading! Have a nice day!
Chapter 11: His bonk is powerful!
Any normal player would question Venomous more about her words regarding the guild. It was clear her guild wouldn't be like most of the guilds that wanted to play together and do some fun stuff in the game.
She wanted to conquer the world and match all those guilds with huge companies and corporations behind them.
That was why, any normal player would ask more about the income and her plans, but Michu was just thinking about the banana farm and his future quests for it.
Inwardly, Venomous was relieved because of it.
If Michu wanted to take a risk, then he just could write a letter to the popular guild and already make some good money with popular guild support. Of course, that would be if the risk turned out successful.
Luckily for her, Nana was scared of contracts and their mother would probably get a heart attack if Michu signed something without thinking; even if the contract would be good.
"With this pace, we will arrive in the north around the evening," Venomous shoved all these thoughts deeply into her heart, then said.
On their way to the north, Michu and Venomous fought alongside each other and leveled up slowly as the roads were often clear and they didn't want to take any detours.
Unfortunately for the players, the teleport platforms were only in wealthy cities. Their beginner city would at most teleport them to 20+ cities. Though they could go here even as newbies, the money was one thing, but they just didn't have any reason to go here.
The party could only go there on their legs.
Since Kocardo City was the closest to the north, it would only take a few hours.
For today, Michu and Venomous would probably just arrive in the north, then do their prepared stuff tomorrow.
However, Michu wanted to know more about her plans, "How will we get land? Do you have money?"
"If someone were to pay, then it would be you. The one who needs land at such a level is probably only you…" Venomous felt like rolling her eyes, but she didn't show any reaction but just explained.
She said, "A land visited by many players can turn you into a millionaire alone. Most beginner cities already have players' interests within. Commonly, it's known that players who share interests with royal families in the beginner city get around 50% of the whole profit."
"Oh… How nice!" Michu replied.
"It's because they use their fame to attract newbie players…" Venomous just added that and didn't bother anymore. It didn't take a genius to tell that Michu just randomly chose the beginner city.
It was luck that was also related to her.
She was lucky to meet this monkey!
While Michu laughed, Venomous took out her sword and slashed it against the middle-sized bear that silently charged from the side, "A land costs a lot, but we can get one through quests. What we need is to gather the attention of the noble."
A sword was neatly slashed through the bear's eyes in a horizontal slash.
[Your enemy has become blind!]
"Don't let that message mislead you," Venomous's sword didn't stop at all and she thrust it deeper into the eye sockets. Blood spilled out in absurd amounts and it would leave many in wonder why this game wasn't R-18 rated yet.
"Lack of eyesight just increases its other senses… That's why press forward." Venomous killed another level ten monster, then allowed Michu to take another.
In the meantime, she returned to the previous topic, "In the north, the noble is infamous. He has a little status compared to others and many players would rather choose to go to the center. If you look from another perspective, it's like he has been excluded from the royal circle by becoming a lord here. But, he is infamous because of his view of players. Some say that he used to be a wealthy noble closer to the center, but I couldn't find more information."
Michu nodded a few times, but his focus had been laid on the level ten bear!
He clenched his staff tightly, remembering the feeling of a critical strike.
For many, it would seem like stupid action, but the critical strike had two principles behind it.
The first one would be the enemy's weak spots. It was the easiest way to inflict critical strikes, but people often saw critical strikes emerging out of normal wounds.
Thus, there had to be another principle behind it.
It was proper strength management.
A feeling that the future monkey had was a good first step towards it.
[-102 HP!]
"Ah, I failed… Then!" Michu's disappointment quickly faded away as he jumped back. His grasp eased, then his legs pushed him up to the sky.
Once he found himself above the bear, Michu raised his staff, then shouted, "BONK!"
His staff instantly exploded with wind currents. Everything around its tip turned heavy and Michu's whole body began to descend faster.
In the blink of an eye, the heavy blow fell onto the bear's head, its chin smashing down the ground.
Under Michu's bonk, the bear dug a little pond with his chin, then Michu unleashed more attacks with his staff.
He returned to try that 'feeling' and he managed to get one critical strike.
"Hehe, I did it! It feels easier the more I fight!" He happily exclaimed, then the duo continued their journey on the safe road.
Michu said, "How will we gather the noble's attention?"
"Think about it yourself," Venomous bluntly replied and our poor monkey closed his eyes, caressed his chin like a monkey god he had seen in the animation on the street before, then exclaimed, "My bonk seems powerful…"
"It's your banana, you idiot," Venomous exclaimed.
Any normal player would try to become closer with the nobles from the beginner cities or any popular NPCs like mages who could bring them closer to the magical academy. But even to become closer with them, one would need to become closer to their subordinates.
Talented people got noticed usually by martial artists and any newbie instructors.
"I don't want to share my banana with the noble," Michu said.
"You will just show them its stats." That was how they would get the noble's attention! But seeing Michu's expression, Venomous had to add something.
She said, "That's what your sister told me."
Michu's countenance changed immediately as if some witch put a magic spell on him! "That's fine then!" He innocently laughed and even made Venomous feel a little bad for lying like that.
