章節 25: Don't act like an overexcited teenager..

Her red cheeks made Ethan's smirk getting wider as he thought to pull her leg once again, "Are you getting shy now? I've not said anything wrong by the way. You're soon going to get married to me. So there's nothing wrong in me calling you wifey…right?"

Those hazel eyes which were lowered till now in shyness, snapped towards his direction in a jiffy as she retorted back, "First of all, I'm not shy.. And secondly, you can't just assert me as your wifey now. We haven't got married yet."

"Uhm.. Right. It's still time for us to get married. So… Can I call you finance for now?" Ethan asked with curios filled eyes, bending towards her a little.

Katherine widened her eyes at his direct question and refused this idea immediately by saying, "No.. You can't.. We're yet to get engaged."

Ethan gave her a fake annoying look at first but later a mischievous smile crawled on his lips as he asked playfully, "You are not letting me call you wife nor fiance as well. So I have another option, you know! How about I regard you as my girlfriend for now?"

Katherine didn't know why but her heart started to thud in excitement when the particular word girlfriend rattle out of his mouth.

"Girl…girlfriend?" Her statement came out more like a question.

Batting his eyes, Ethan folded both of his hand and leaned on the table before saying, "Yes… Girlfriend. Till we get engaged or married, we'll talk with each other like any other couples do.

We may not get to meet each other as I've to go back to New York to settle some matters there. But we can at least chat over phone. So are you ready for it?"

Katherine's whole face brightened like a sun as she said beamingly, "Yes.. We can definitely do that."

"So Ms. Girlfriend, can I get your phone number please?" Ethan asked with a wide grin.

"Sure, Mr. Boyfriend. But let me remind you that we are yet to finish our question answer round." Katherine said opening the screen lock of her phone.

"Are you going to deduct my interview now?" Ethan asked as he wrote his number on her phone which she handed him a second ago.

"Correct! A special interview on Mr. Boyfriend's likes and dislikes.." Katherine stated while tapping her fingers on her chin, trying to intimidate him.

Ethan just chuckled at her expenses and dialed his number from Katherine's phone before giving it back to her as he exclaimed, "Hmmm… Sounds interesting. Let's have this special interview from both side then."

"Hehehe.. Fine." Katherine giggled adorably.

"So.. what's your favourite colour?" Katherine was the one to start over their question answer round again.

"Black…" Ethan replied before asking, "Yours?"

"Purple.."

"Favourite food?"

"Anything that has chicken?"

"Mine Italian.."

"Favourite flowers?"

"Lilies.."

Like this both of them continued to share their own sweet time with each other while chatting, laughing and exploring about each other's interest with lots of fun..

"So… It's a yes from your side right?" A curious Sophia asked with her eyes completely widened.

Katherine just gave her a look of disbelief and said, "Please take a breath first Mom. You're literally scaring me with that look of yours."

"Kathy…. Can you please stop with your stupid jokes and tell me about your decision?" Sophia growled, giving an annoying look at her as she hit her head lightly.

"Oww! Mumma! Stop hitting me first." Katherine made a cute pout, pretending to be extremely hurt while the hit was just a slight touch of her palm.

Sophia narrowed her eyes at her, glaring angrily which was a clear indication for her to not anger her mother anymore. Otherwise, the consequences were going to be really bad!

Reno who was sitting just beside them, chuckled at the small bantering that took place between the mother daughter duo.

"Fine fine.. Mummy darling. Don't overreact now. My answer is a big YES! Fold your sleeves up to marry your daughter off.." Katherine declared with a wide smile on his face.

Sophia kept staring at her daughter with blank eyes for a few seconds but after few minutes of intermission, all they heard was a loud squealing sound…

"Yaaayyyy! My daughter is finally getting married! I need to do so many things! Oh My God! How will I cover all of them so fast!

Shopping, wedding preparations, inviting guests.. My Goodness!" Although Sophia was extremely excited but the thought of making everything ready so quickly, was making her panic.

Reno side hugged his wife from her shoulder and said, "Honey, calm down first. Everything is possible when you don't act like an overexcited teenager."

Sophia glared at her husband for teasing her while the other two chuckled.

Shaking his head, Reno asked his daughter, "Kathy.. Are you sure about it?"

Smiling at her father, she replied before giving him an assuring blink, "Yes, Dad.. I'm hundred percent sure. Like you've said, Ethan is really a great guy.

And I feel that I wouldn't have gotten any better man than him as my prospective groom. I think he'll be the best husband to spend my entire life with."

Reno smiled happily at his daughter and said after placing a kiss on her head, "I am happy for you, princess. Now we can go and have a talk with your Pa also.

We couldn't inform him about this beforehand as there was not confirmation from your side till now. So we kept it halted to not hurt Dad's feelings as we can risk to give him another heart attack. But now that everything is final, we can finally enlighten him with the news.

I'm sure that he'll be the happiest person in the world after knowing that his lovely granddaughter is going to get married with his best friend's grandson."

Both Katherine and Sophia beamed at this as they followed Reno to the eldest member's room..
