Seeing Paul outside the window she ran out of the room as fast as she could and sprinted down the stairs. Eternity seemed to pass because there was so much ground to cover. Her heart was in overdrive and her lungs worked at full capacity.
Running she reached the backdoor and pushed through it until she was finally in the garden. She ran down the path and rounded the corner to where he stood. Her hair trailed behind her as she ran, and when she saw the smile on his face she ran harder.
She jumped into his arms and hooked her arms around his neck. He caught her effortlessly, his strong arms keeping her positioned against his chest. She pressed her forehead to his chest as her eyes still streamed with tears. "Yes."
