"Good evening, welcome to The Ajanta. Do you have a reservation?" Ignoring Emma's state of dress the man behind the counter welcomed her.

"Table for Samuel Davis?" In return, she smiled and pretended that a small piece of her is not dying inside of her but she did not miss the arch on the receptionist's brow when she told him who she was there to meet.

"Certainly." He called a waiter and asked him to lead. As the waiter led her through the immaculately dressed tables, she banished the dashingly good-looking man that had featured in her daydreams from her mind and replaced him with a more modest guess at who will be waiting for her.
