Just under a year after my son Julian graduated high school, in April, I received a summons from Trinity and Reece. Only this summons wasn't to get me to come to their castle in Colorado. No, this time I was being summoned by them to go to the Fae compound.

Apparently, there was a war starting, and we were being called in as reinforcements. I had to set off with as many abled body fighters as I could. It was not the typical way that things were done for us shifters, but there was absolutely no time to waste.

I was going to be leaving with Aaron, since he was Fae, Dad, Kent, Toby, Morgan, Reed, Bailey, and four dozen other men and women from the pack. None of our mates were coming with us because they were staying home with all the children. And Doc was going with us, but not as a fighter, he was to be a medic in the field.
