 Maria sniffled as she looked around, but saw no one. Thinking that she had finally cracked, she started to mock-laugh at herself. As she took a breath in between, the voice spoke to her again..

 "Well, little one? Would you like to take revenge upon those who would leave you to such a cruel fate? To be beaten and raped just because he is your husband? Does his power not come from his marriage to you?"

 "What do you mean? He's the king I'm just the Queen," Maria sputtered, in disbelief that she was talking to a disembodied voice.

 "Oh, you poor little thing.. You know nothing, don't you? Other than the things that they want you to know.. Would you like to know it all? Have it all?"

 Maria thought about it for a moment, then asked; "Who are you?"

 "Do you not pray to a name?"

 "I pray to two names: which are you?" Maria asked, wondering why he wouldn't say his own name.
