 As the sun hit the top of the sky, an old clock on the wall chimed the noon hour. It was one of the things Serenity's mother let her take as a keepsake when they moved away.. Far away.

 Matt was humming a song as he made the final flip on a grilled turkey, broccoli, and cheddar sandwich. After searing the side for a few minutes, he put it on a plate, then set everything on the other side of the stove to cool. He yelped several times as he cut the sandwich into four pieces, but completed his task.

 Resuming his humming, Matt walked from the small kitchen into the small living room. A little girl will red curls sat watching the Little Mermaid, waiting for her father to bring her lunch. He grinned at her as he hummed along with the song on the movie, and placed the sandwich on a TV tray in front of her.

 "Thank you, daddy!" she said before immediately going back to watching the movie.
