 The icy water around them was dense, and making it difficult to move. It was closer to swimming in runny jello than actual water, and it kept them moving at a slower pace than normal.

 "Did Oceanus tell you what to do?!" Matt screamed over the building noise as he positioned his pack between them.

 "What do you mean?! Was he supposed to tell me something?!" Serenity yelled back with panic in her voice.

 As they reached the halfway point, the rushing sound was more like a roar. As they quickly approached it, Serenity felt a sinking feeling inside her gut..

 In an instant, Matt had wrapped an arm around her as he screamed; "Take the deepest breath of your Life, and hang on!"

 Serenity nodded and inhaled right as they turned up the only corner that the gods had warned them about. As they swam up, they could feel the effects of Tethys' barrier waning..
