"Are you going somewhere?." Paige asked me on my way out. Ryan was outside already, waiting for me.

"I have this thing that's important, so don't wait up." I vaguely replied, turning around to leave. But I could feel her shadow casted on me, she wasn't leaving or letting me leave.

"I think it's dangerous going by yourselves in a city you don't know. I'll come with." Was her reply, harmless and innocent.

"I don't need you babysitting us." I shot back at her, pissed that my car wasn't here with me. "You're both under my care, so expect me to accompany you both." She persisted, grabbing some keys from her pocket.

"My car is in the garage, give me a moment." Paige announced, having the final word in the conversation. If I kept on insisting we leave, then I might really sound suspicious.
