Luca sat across me eating chips and drinking a slushy. He was still serious on not having pizza, it surprised me that he lasted this long without pizza.

By just staring at him, my eyes could pick up how tired his eyes looked, his face had formed stress lines, which I failed to notice earlier. His mom was beaten up badly, was it his dad? He always spoke about his mom and his huge extended family living with them. But almost never about his dad.

"D!." I heard him call out, snapping me out of my thoughts, I flickered my eyes in shock, returning back to reality.

"I guess am going to stop coming here." Luca said, holding out a chip, offering it to me, my appetite was long gone, so I refused it.

"Why? You feeling ashamed that your friend works here?." I teased, he chuckled, "yeah, because she's a shitty employee." He teased back, I raised my hand to playfully hit him, but refuted.
