My shift finally ended, at long last I could run off home and get some sleep. Truth be told, running did make me feel energised, but at the same time wore me out.

"Am heading home now." I said to Darla, "West said he wouldn't come." She coldly said, feeling downcast. It seemed like West figured out for himself why I wasn't going to get ice cream tonight.

"So you can swallow your pride pill and come along with Charlotte and me." Darla said, packing the tips into her pockets. I smiled at how she still did that, it made me feel at ease, at least that's a form of compensation for what she does.

"Are we all set gals?!." Charlotte asked popping out of nowhere still putting on West's sweater. Was she trying to die tonight?.

"You're still with the sweater..." Darla stated, Charlotte looked at it as if she didn't know it was on her, like she was playing dumb.
