Keith knew that he was going to have to leave for class soon, but before that he took time once they got back to the admin building to help Apryl sort her textbooks and get backpack in the right order.
She was quiet as she sat and watched what he was doing, but she couldn't deny that she felt it was a bit overwhelming everything that he was doing to help her organize. Even though he was really focused on it, Keith took the time to explain that the tabs he put on each chapter in her book were called 'sticky notes' that could be used as markers to help her keep track of how much she needed to read.
"It feels like that is so much trouble to do though." She watched him continued the methodical process with her second text book.
"What trouble you take now is going to save you later on when you need to get to a specific chapters or you learn how t mark certain pages to go back to reference rather than scouring the book for that one paragraph on a page you can't remember." He explained as he continued to flip through the pages. "Especially when you're taking four classes and not just two."
"I guess I believe you since I haven't experienced that yet." was the only thing she could say even though it still seemed like it was going to end up being a lot of work to do every semester.
"Next time you'll have more time to get everything together. It's just a bit rushed right now because you enrolled at the last minute and classes start tomorrow so you have a lot you need to do. You will get a few weeks off between the semesters though." He reassured her as she finished putting the last tabs in her second book. "Now there is one other thing you need to do. We need to get you applying for financial aid. I won't have the time to help you with that, but I will give you a list of everything that you will need to fill it out." He wrote her a quick list one of the notepads he had and pulled off the piece of paper to stick behind the cover of the textbook he had finished marking up.
"Financial aid?" Apryl repeated, unsure of what that was supposed to be beyond her knowing that 'aid' referred to help of some sort.
"It's basically money you can apply for to help you pay for your tuition and stuff, what I was talking to you about before. It probably won't be enough to cover everything, but will make your account more manageable until you can find a job." Keith explained as he began to pack away his own stuff. He would have to make up his work hours after he was done with classes. "It's not hard to do and if your aunt or uncle have been to college before which I assume they have been based upon how much they've helped you thus far, they should be able to help with this as well." After making sure he hadn't forgotten anything he put his backpack over his left shoulder, adjusting his glasses in the process to make sure that they wouldn't fall off his face.
"You can stay here if you want until I am done with class if there is anything else that you want to go over or you're free to go home for the day and text me if you need anything before class tomorrow. Either way, I would recommend you double check everything before you leave campus in case there is anything you have forgotten."
"Okay. Enjoy class I guess?" She wasn't sure if that was the right thing to say, but she had picked up from other students that they seemed to say that to each other when one or the other was getting to head to class. Keith laughed.
"I can't say if I will enjoy it or not, but it certainly isn't a bad class compared to some. If you're still waiting here by the time I come back in a little over an hour, I'll assume that there is something you need my help with still." He told her before giving her a wave and headed towards the exit to leave for class before he ended up being late.
After he had left, Apryl hadn't moved from her position as she wasn't certain what she wanted to do. She felt good with everything that she gotten today, it meant that she had to be close to being ready for class tomorrow, right?
A part of her wasn't certain though if she would be ready for class by the following day. She still felt like there was too much that she didn't know and that she was bound to forget something important tomorrow. What it would be she wasn't sure, but she just had a feeling it was going to happen. Thus, she decided not to leave right away and instead pulled out her phone to text her mom and let her know what was going on. It was probably about the time that she would start worrying soon if she didn't her from her daughter.
That was one thing she could think of that she could use Keith's help with. She needed to get access to her class schedule to find out where her classes would be located. She had watched how he did it on his computer, but that wasn't the same as accessing it on her phone. She wasn't sure where the public computers were either or even how she could print from them let alone access her account.
Puffing her cheeks out, she let out a deep sigh. She probably would've been better of going back home and asking uncle Brian to help her figure it out, but she also knew that until she got her own computer, she was going to have to learn to use the ones on campus except for the times when Brian wasn't at home and she could use the computer until he got back.
She knew thought that would be hit and miss so it would be better to just figure out the computer issue today. However, she wasn't sure if exploring the campus by herself would be beneficial or not. Keith had shown her where some of the more important spots on the campus were, but it was only time and as much as she tried her best to keep everything in her mind, it was proving to be difficult with the over load of information that she had been taking in recently.
If she was going to be able to do this successfully, she was going to have to find another person or people on campus who could help her sooner rather than later. The problem though was that she wasn't ready to deal with humans yet more than she needed to but the only other werewolf she had just met that day didn't seem like the type who would would freely chose to spend his time helping those who needed it but that he didn't know.
Just thinking about Chester made a chill go down her spine. She couldn't see herself becoming friends with him any time soon even if Keith was and assured her that he wasn't really that much of a threat or anything.
Today she would just have to wait for Keith to get out of class and tomorrow she would have to hope that maybe in one of her two classes there would be another werewolf that she could make friends with or a human who seemed fairly decent and not intimidating that she could become acquainted with.
