Jasmine frowned. Why would he allow himself to be misunderstood for all these years?
As if reading her mind, he explained, "I wasn't entirely innocent. If I warned her about the goddess behind her or pulled her to my side, or done something else to evade the attack, I wouldn't have stabbed her."
She so badly wanted to cup his face and tell him that it was alright. Who would have thought that he was holding so much pain in his heart?
"I'm not telling you this to evoke your pity. It's the last thing I would want to do to you." He said, once again reading her mind.
She looked at the hand stalking towards hers and held it. He was taken aback which was expected. After all, she had swatted him away barely ten minutes ago.
