~~~(POV: Nathen Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: The Jedi Temple, Coruscant)~~~
My little comment about Satele advancing age has got her a bit bothered. She's in her early 40s now. When I was a Padawan, she had just turned 30. I wouldn't mind having a duel with my old Master. It could be fun for a change. I'd like to see how much stronger she's gotten too.
She walks forward and lightly flicks my forehead like when I was still learning from her. But a smile soon appears, and I can tell that she's looking to make me eat her words.
"You're not afraid to lose to your seemingly old and feeble Master, now are you?"
That's one way to get me motivated too. Eassa and Nella can't help but laugh a little at the exchange we're having right now. It's one of those moments where you know they're not going to come around again, and you'll regret it if you don't take it.
"Fine, let's see what you got. You bag of bones."
We make our way into a cleaner and less damaged training room. Satele takes her lightsaber off her belt and ignites it. Preparing to go full steam ahead on me. She's a Niman expert and Grandmaster of the Order.
There is no way she's going to be a pushover. I could use The Force to make this match quick, but I want to see how far I've come with my lightsaber skills.
I take on my custom stance, and she has a slight shift in her posture. As if she knows how dangerous my fighting style is. Nella and Eassa are watching from the sides, and I can sense Nella is looking forward to learning from this.
"Ready when you are."
The confidence in her voice says a lot about Satele. How much she's changed. She wouldn't sound like this if it were several years ago. Shows the effect I've had on her life.
Without another word, I lunge forward, and our blades clash. I'm immediately on the offensive, but Satele is a Master. She's dodging and parrying the attacks with expert precision.
There is some strain on her face. The power and speed of my attacks are starting to wear down on her, and she knows she won't last long like this. That's when I feel a kick to my ribs, and I'm spun through the air.
I adjust myself and land on my feet, shifting back into my custom stance as she goes on the offensive this time. This time, it's me who's parrying and redirecting strikes. Sweat is starting to appear on her forehead and arms.
Due to my abilities in Force Augmentation, I'm not even close to getting tired. The fight is turning in my favor, and that's when I shift to the offensive. I funnel her into the corner of the room, and I eventually overwhelm her to the point she has to get on one knee.
However, I sense something from behind me. I jump out of the way and bounce off the ceiling creating some distance. There, I see Nella and Eassa with their lightsabers drawn.
"You look like you could use some help, Master Satele. Maybe it's time we teach Nate a lesson about picking on people who aren't as strong as him."
There is a teasing edge in Eassa's voice. Satele stands up, and I watch her wipe the sweat off her brow. She did excellent on her own. She lasted longer than anyone else at my current power.
"Yeah, maybe I can finally get a hit in with the help of you two."
This time, it's Nella that's voicing her opinion. She's not wrong. During our training sessions, she's not landed a strike on me yet. Now that it's 3v1, I have to take this seriously. Even if Nella isn't a challenge, that doesn't mean she can't help Eassa and Satele.
They all get into the stances, and I do the same. It doesn't take long before they all start attacking at the same time. This is when I have to start using Ataru and Niman to escape, defend, and attack.
As Nella and Eassa focus their attention on me, Satele flanks me from behind. I'm sending blades away with every parry, redirect, and spinning and flipping to escape Satele's masterful strikes.
Before I know it, the old mats below us are covered in sweat, and all the women across from me are starting to show signs of fatigue.
"This is so unfair!! You never get tired!!"
Nella suffers the most from my lack of fatigue. We train almost every day, and she can hardly keep up.
