Tywin Lanister arrival to King's Landing didn't go unnoticed.
He moved along the corridors of the Reed Keep going in the direction of the gardens where his daughter, the queen was resting now with her child.
He wanted to finish his business as quickly as possible and leave this shit and piss stinking city.
He marched right in ignoring the King's guard at the doors scoffing at the look of the glorified doorman.
His lips turned showing his distaste for his son's decision to be one of them.
"Father you're here?" Cersei stood up and came closer to the only man that made her feel fear.
"You can see can't you." Lord Tywin signaled his Lanisters guards to wait at the door, placed his sword at the table and looked at the child that was sitting at the floor before sitting.
"I wasn't expecting you to vis..." she wanted to feel the man out, but was interrupted.
"Let's cut the useless chat child. I want you to speak with the King." Saying the last word left distaste in his mouth, but he knew better than to show it.
Cersei's face was blank at the mention of that man. If not for her brother's support she would already probably stick a dagger through the eye of that whoring drunk.
Lord Tywin shook his head thinking that she should learn at least to hide her feelings for important people or she will be the one to loose out at the end.
"You will go to him and advise him to place additional tarifs on Dustin House's imported goods from outside of Westeros." Tywin looked at his child.
"Why?" Cersei's cold voice asked curiously.
Lord of Casterly Rock furrowed his brows thinking that his daughter should already know the reason and the lack of her knowledge made him blame it all on him not being strict enough with her.
Cersei looked at her fathers expressions and already knew she made a mistake, but she was the queen now! She shouldn't be afraid of him and yet her body stiffen for a second.
"The Dustin's from the North took over our position at the merchant markets. We are loosing our standing to them and this can not happen. Our usual partners already started to switch sides and this needs to be fixed." He poured a glass of wine for himself.
"But why should we bother? We have our gold mines right?" Cersei didn't understand.
"The mines are not the solution. There will come a day when they will be exhausted and with them all our power. We need an alternative and trade is just that. Do you think I've spent the last years building our family just for an upstart house to take it away from us?" his voice got stricter and emotionless.
"Why not simply send our people to take care of them? I heard that there is only a child to inherit the house." Cersei didn't see the problem here.
"Do you think I would be here if I didn't?" The dissatisfaction only rose in his heart. "All our spies disappeared just after arriving to the North. Not even one reported back, so tell me is that normal?" Tywin played with the wine glass and looked at his only daughter and her shocked face and continued. "We have reports that the child is loved and well protected, but for some reason he was last seen going to Dorne and then to Slavers Bay leading their fleet probably for a spice run. None of our ships can keep up with their fleet, but we do now from our merchants that he disembarked in there leaving his fleet to go further." Lord Lanisters was silently praising his rivals in his heart. That managed to get to that level in only few years.
How bad he wished his children would be so impressive as the person who managed to get a poor house of that barren North to one of the most powerful ones in Westeros in less than a decade.
"Isn't it simple like that? Just make him disappear there!" The queen really tried to avoid the detestable man she called her husband.
"Enough! The plans there are already in place and you will do what is expected of you!" Lord Tywin got angry at the excuses his daughter threw at him. "You are the queen so act like one!" he stood up and looked at the scared child that was hiding under his mother skirt making Cersei put her guard up.
"I will do as you say father..." she lowered her head and covered the young, panicking Joffrey behind her, earning herself another distasteful look from her father before he left without another word.
That evening she went to her husband to talk about the request her father left with her.
"My love..." Cersei entered the great hall only to see Robert with his hand under one of the servants skirt and the girls face red.
She furrowed her eyebrows and concentrated for a moment remembering the servant whore face just to get back to her normal self a moment later.
"Woman! Can't you see that I'm busy?!" The fat man shouted clearly angry that someone dared to disturb his fun.
He grabbed his wine glass and downed it all at one.
The young servant seeing her Queen lowered her head and left embarrassed and afraid.
Cersei looked at Robert trying her hardest not to lash out knowing full well the consequences of his temper. "My love, I spoke with Master of coin and we need to increase the tariffs to..." she didn't finish when King Robert slammed the glass on the table shattering it making her jump in fright.
"If the reason you disturbed me is to count pennies then you might as well take your leave woman!" The Stag's temper flared again. "Speak to the Hand, Jon should be more then enough to take care of it! You Lanisters and your gold! Is this the only thing you think about?!" He stood up looked at his blond wife showing the displeasure he felt on his face and left after the girl he wanted to have today.
Queen Cersei looked at him with a cold serious gaze, she knew that as things stood Jon Arryn would not accept the change.
There was only one thing to do...
"Father won't be happy..." she whispered and left.
