"April I…" He paused and clamped his mouth shut. He looked at me with guilt slinging in his dark eyes.

I bite hard on my lips. I might have drawn blood. "You can't deny right. That you kept my mother away from me to prevent me from finding out the truth about your lies"

"That's not true, April. I paid her off to keep her away from you because she wasn't looking for a mother-daughter bonding time. She just wanted money from you, your inheritance. I didn't want her to hurt you, Crazy" His eyes dipped into mine pleading with me to believe him but I can't. My aching heart wouldn't let me.

I chuckled bitterly "You just wanted to keep her from getting a share of the inheritance you also wanted a part of."

"Oh, sorry you wanted it all for yourself" I reframe my bitter words
