章節 123: Having A Backer
"A... Are we in the right place?" Crispin asked with an awkward look.
"Yes... I think." This time the all enthusiastic Caspian wasn't so enthusiastic anymore when they stood before the majestic mansion with numerous guards moving back and forth. Numerous servants dressing the entire mansion for some type of celebration.
"Are you sure, Caspian?" Hoover came from the other carriage and asked along with the other Advanced-level blacksmiths.
Caspian out of doubt of himself brought out a little note from his pocket and looked it through. He was ninety percent sure this was the place written in the note.
While he kept pondering if the note was authentic or not a guard from within the gates came out to meet them.
"You must be the guest my master says are from the Blacksmith Guild. Please follow me, my master have been waiting for you all." When the guard this he motioned for the guards at the gate to open the gates for them.
The two carriages slowly rode on the paved road leading towards the mansion they peered their heads out to see the lush and wonderful serenity around them. The carriages was brought in and taken to the back of the mansion to be washed.
With these esteemed men and women walking up the stairs they now had the chance to properly take in the building more clearly in a closer view. Spectacular! The very architecture. The very materials used. Even the designs right from outside can be described in one word. Expensive.
They had no words to describe their current state of mind. A lame man would simply say they are shocked. But, like in every situation there will always be someone hell bent to doubt everything.
"Humph, trying to show off your families wealth as your own. Isn't that cheap?" Tim's words could've heard by everyone including the guard bringing them in.
"How do you know if it really isn't his own or his family'? From one of my investigations we found out that he has completed an SS rank mission and also won a pool money that has been accumulated for over four decade. I believe that amount of money can make anyone filthy rich if you ask me." Cora gave a report of what she has found in her own investigation.
A collective gulp was heard all at once. Little did they know that this one person is already making them feel lesser than they are. Doesn't that mean that apart from being a blacksmith he is also a Hunter.
"Oh please, do you have any idea how many people it takes to complete a single S rank mission, much less an SS rank mission? It can go in to the tens even hundreds if need be. He must have been protected throughout the way." Tim rebuked such claim. He didn't want to believe Ben was 'That' special.
"Well, you will be surprised to know that the mission was completed with less than ten people and only two casualties. And to boot that, it was only his first mission after he became a Hunter." Cora stated. Even she has to admit that such a human is simply on another dimension.
Hearing this even the guard leading them was extremely shocked stupid that he nearly tripped when hearing the words of one of the guest behind him. Even though not everyone knows Spellcasters they sure for one know a lot about Hunters. Despite not knowing every single thing of the Hunter profession, he could tell that the C, D, E, F rank missions he have been hearing his friends in the pub talk about was not compared to what the woman called an SS rank mission. Thus made him think deeply about who his master really is.
"You may wait here as I inform my master of your presence." The guard led them to a lavishly decorated room where they would wait for Ben's arrival. The room had a plate of chocolate chip cookies on the table adorned with beautiful flowers.
"What? Are you saying that he doesn't even know know we are here already? This is outrageous!" Tim was raging.
"Oh shut up Tim. Is there anything you are not going to complain about? You shouldn't whine so much." Caspian was saying in between bites of cookies stuffed in his mouth.
Every other person present only shrugged their shoulder. They knew quite well that rich people tend to do this a lot. Keep the guest waiting for a few minutes before finally attending to them.
"Please do not misunderstand my master. He has been busy with his work ever since he returned from the Blacksmith Guild, he also specifically told us that unless, you, his esteemed guest, arrive we mustn't disturb his work. I believe that with your arrival he must have been informed and will be with you shortly." The guard respectfully bowed and explained.
"It is alright. We can wait a little while later." Hoover stepped up because he knew that Tim would continue with his complaints.
"Oh my goodness! You all have to try these cookies. They are delicious." Suzanne quickly said when she picked up the first cookie and took a bite.
One after another gasps of shock and bewilderment rang out in the large room. When the first, second and third person testified of its greatness no one had to tell the others to give it a try.
It was only ten minutes when they we're brought here yet they were already loving the snacks left on the table. One could just wonder what might happen if they were to have a taste of the main dish. Shortly after Ben arrived.
"I am so sorry to have kept you all waiting for so long. I hope you enjoyed yourselves on the small chops." Ben came in through the second door.
Ben wore a navy blue suit having thick red embroidery designs over a purple leathered shoe. The glow in his purple eyes were bright and clear. His black shimmering hair was braided at the sides leaving the top to fall backwards with beads at the end. It made look like a barbarian... in suit.
"Ben, you look good. You look even more younger than I saw a few days ago." Cora said acting courtly.
"I'm flattered miss Cora." Be smiled, although within him he wasn't having a good feeling hearing that. Of course, Cora had a stunning woman, but to blatantly act like so was... surprising. "Well I must say, we are not going to the place I intended."
"Hmm, why's that?" Caspian asked as though they were trying to make him miss an important date. "I think, if these cookies are this good the I bet the food served in the place you chose should be better at the very least."
"Oh it wouldn't be necessary." Ben said.
"And why do you think so?" Hoover asked with a raised brow.
"I knew this guy and place couldn't bring us to any place worthwhile." Tim was fast to shoot Ben a sharp remark.
"Actually that's because I own the place. We recently had some issues so shut the plac down, we are also trying to improve the place a bit. That's why, we will be having the party here. I hope you all don't mind though, beside isn't it just to eat some exquisite dishes?"
"Hmm, Ben, as a member of the Guild whoever dares touches you touches the Guild. Tell us who it is that caused you this much troubles and well make sure to deal with them." Hoover immediately said slamming the table in conviction.
Ben inwardly smiled when he heard what the Guild is willing to do to safeguard its members. Ben acted like he wasn't willing to expose the one he had in mind. But at the end he mentioned who he had in mind. And it was none other than Lord Relet.
"Don't worry Ben, things will be over before you even know it." Caspian laughed thinking that this issue is certainly a small fry for the Guild to handle.
"Humph, stand at the side and watch how the Blacksmith Guild will squash this puny Lord. He should know that the Guild makes trade with countless cities, towns, and states, even duchies come to us.
"I believe that shouldn't be a problem Ben." Suzanne commented from the side.
"Great! Then we can head to the dinning hall, everything has been prepared."
With that Ben led the blacksmiths towards the dinning hall housing the most exquisite dishes known yo this world. Ben is trying this to get strongly connected to the Blacksmiths Guild.
