章節 93: Laws Of The World

"Is it me or did something changes about Ben?" Sonia who sat in a lounge chair questioned absentmindedly, still in a daze.

"No, it's not you, Sonia. He did change." Ricky answered also looking at where Ben had flashed away.

"That doesn't matter as long as he's still alive, right?" innocent Pudding said with a small smile.

""Yeah."" both Sonia and Ricky said absentmindedly.

In mentor Belti's study, both he and Ben just stood there without uttering a single word.

"Thank you for bringing me back to the tower." after some time Ben finally broke the silence.

"You're welcome, besides its my duty as your mentor to care for you." Belti replied. And then silence again.

"You called for me, mentor." Ben asked but what followed was still silence.

Mentor Belti's gaze lingered on Ben for so long before he finally said something. And his question was what Ben thought he would ask.

"How many elements do you have?" he asked, his expression solemn.

Instead of answering Ben decided to show him. Ben conjured a light ball before it reformed into a red tongue of flame floating before him, then it hardened exuding a strong chill. After that, it changed from sky-blue to golden-brown, becoming rigid. In less ten seconds a tiny tornado shredded the pile of earth and dispersed. Lastly, cackling sounds was heard on Ben's hands as a pinball size lightning ball appeared.

Six different colours. Six different elements. Mentor Belti was out of words to say anything as he saw Ben create a magic he had never seen before - A miracle.

"You are the only one who have seen all my elements." Ben answered before he asked.

"How is this possible?" although a whisper he was still heard. He just couldn't understand how A Chosen can perform magic without spell models, Forming Elemental Spheres didn't give ability, it at most have a decent amount of elemental resistance.

"I don't know." Ben have an honest answer.

"Can I see your Elemental Spheres?" mentor Belti asked in a calm - still raspy - voice. To his request Ben frowned. He had no intentions of handing his life to someone he barely knows.

"I..."

"There's no need, pardon me. *Ahem* Even though you'll be receiving them from the school any moment later they are crap compared to what I have. Well, unlike you, I only have four elements while we have three of the same. I'll be giving you your first three Entrance-level spell model." three scrolls flew out of his storage ring towards Ben. "Take it as an investments I'm making." he added.

Ben caught the scrolls, carefully opening them. They were all Silver rank spell models. You could know the quality of a spell models by the colour of the scroll. The first scroll he opened was an Earth-type spell model - Earth Shield. Like the name implies it summons a shield made of earth to protect you from both elemental and physical attacks.

The second was A Lightning-type spell model - Lightning Strike. it requires you to shoot out a streak of lightning, directing it by sending the gathered lightning element in your hand and sending it away by putting you hand like a sword pointed out.

The third, a Water-type spell model - Whip Splash. This spell brings about a whip made of water as a means of attack. Although the spell is very convenient, it has its drawbacks. There must be a medium to make the spell work, water must be around the caster in order to cast the spell.

Ben received the spell models and bowed saying, "Thank you mentor, I promise to keep these safe."

"Just try not to die before I summon you," he waved at Ben asking him to leave, "Ah, Ben..." he abruptly called before Ben finally leaves his office. "...whatever that black rock is, never, I repeat, NEVER let anyone else take it. There must be a reason why it is with you, so I advise that you keep it safe." with that Ben was free to go.

Ben flashed from the top floor to the ground floor, once he arrived all his newly acquired spell models disappeared into a thread of light into his spatial ring. He went to the sitting area where Ricky and Pudding could be seen.

Pudding succeeded in forming all four Elemental Spheres with an seventy percent grade. Those of their batch were terribly surprised by this feat. All those from her classes all knew her as someone who slacks a lot and is dumb. However, they were dumbfounded to find out she surpassed many who were once the best in their respective field. She even had an eighty-six percent grade Darkness-type Elemental Spheres.

Graded Spheres can simply determine how strong ones Elemental Spheres is to be able to hold spell models. (AN: Ben was her strength and motivation which made him to make her study more on Darkness-type magic to make their mentor proud.)

Pudding's class teachers were astounded by her performance and even tried taking her as their disciple but they were all turned down. She would simply say she already has a master. During the time Ben was in a coma mentor Belti gifted her with his best Darkness-type spell model - Fleeing Shadow and an Air-type Spell model - Wind Track.

Ben, for the next two months locked himself inside his room trying to construct his spell models he was gifted by his mentor. Truth be told if it wasn't for the super computer currently residing in his head he was sure it would have taken almost a whole year to construct these three spell models, if not more.

The complexity of constructing a spell model is enough for those with weaker mind to go crazy. There was once a normie looked into a scroll holding a First-level spell model and immediately went mad before dying six months later. This was all the more reason why Spellcasters detach themselves from the world. You wouldn't want to kill the people you're trying to protect, right?

If you ask Ben, he'd say Further Mathematics were maths for kids compared to constructing a spell model. But still he did it. The question is, why?

Why does he have to create spell models when he can manipulate his elements to take any form or shape?

Over the months he had stayed at The Phantom, he found out that no matter how much he meditated, concentrated or comprehended he cannot grow. Yes, despite being reincarnated into this world with the elemental affinity of all the seven elements and a super computer. Despite having the biggest cheat in the system he must still follow the rules, the laws set down for all living beings.

It does not matter how strong, weak, or cunny, you must abide. Such as normies; They must wake up, eat, work, eat, sleep, wake up again and it continues. As for Elemental Swordsmen, they must train their body to improve their physique, and battle only makes them increase and improve even better.

And then there are the exalted, Spellcasters; Even being at the top of the world they still have to start from the starting point, even climbing the ladder slowly. All this has been set, predestined, bound to be as it is the Law of the World.

Whatever the case may be, Ben has an even better reason to construct spell models. This was because even though he has to follow the laws of the world, he still has a giant cheat. How? one may ask.

Ben found out that because he has Elemental 'Halos' instead of Spheres, coupled with having a Universal Plane, he isn't restricted to having a certain criteria of spells.

Take the Light-type spells for example; Like the name, its spells all have properties of Light, such like Healing, Purify, Holy Shield or attacking spells. Other Spellcasters are only restricted, allowed and are limited to one type of spell.

Like a Priest only specializes in spells like Purify. While non violent Light-type Spellcasters go for healing spells like Heal. Holy Knights of the defensive side go for spells like Holy Shield and those who specializes in offence go for spells like Holy Sword.

So because of this restrictions or limitations a Priest cannot become A Holy Knight, nor a Holy Knight become a Healer. But to Ben there is no such shackles holding him only to one spell. Why this is so, even Ben knew not. The only thing he could do was continue.

After he was done creating spell models gifted to him, he flashed to the last floor just then he saw Pudding ready to go out with a gleeful expression.

"Hey Pudding!"

"Oh, hey Ben." Pudding turns back after hearing a familiar voice.

"Where're you going?"

"You haven't heard? Your identity card should have notified you."

"Oh, I made all notifications go mute."

"We were called to..." as she spoke she was interrupted when Ben's card buzzed getting a message. Looking at his identity card Ben saw the content of the message. "...guess you've gotten the message again, right?"

"Yeah, said we are expected to be at the Phantom Hall to receive rewards. Is that where you're heading?"

"Yeah, won't you be coming too?"

"Yeah, why not?"

Ben and Pudding left Belti's tower by flashing out then appearing outside. After feeding Flamion some apples by Pudding they went on their way.
