Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After swimming for a few more seconds I finally saw the structure that belonged to the black lake dock, and when I was in front of it I jumped out of the lake, landing perfectly on top of the dock while holding Luna in my arms, in princess style.
"And our first champion to arrive is the Hogwarts champion... ETHAN NIGHT!" I heard Bagman announce to everyone, which was soon followed by lots of cheering and applause.
"Nice Ethan!"
"Yeah! Hogwarts is the best!"
"This is our house's silver star!"
"Hah! I'm glad I bet on him!"
And if it were another situation I would be waving to those who were cheering and celebrating my victory, but at this moment I was more worried about the girl in my arms.
"Are you okay Luna?" I asked, looking at my quirky friend who had woken up as soon as she got out of the lake.
However, even after waiting a few seconds she didn't answer me, which made me a little worried.
"Luna?" I called her.
And I may or may not have noticed that she was staring at my bare chest.
"Huh? What?" she blinked, finally looking away from my chest and looking at me.
"I asked if you're okay" I repeated.
"Uh... Oh yeah... I'm fine" she replied, with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"I see…" I said, smiling wryly.
I then realized that I had already been carrying Luna in my arms for a long time, and knowing that she was probably uncomfortable with this I began to carefully place the dreamy girl on the ground.
And after helping Luna to her feet I saw Madam Pomfrey coming quickly towards us with some towels and blankets in her arms.
"Here, dry off and then cover yourself with this" she said, handing a towel to me and another to Luna.
And taking the two towels I used them to help Luna dry off, also using a spell to dry her clothes.
And upon seeing that I wasn't using one of the towels for myself, Madam Pomfrey frowned, "Mr. Night, you should be drying off too." she said.
"She spent more time underwater than me, so she needs it a lot more" I said to the head of the hospital wing.
"Yes, but you're still wet and need to keep warm, or else you might end up getting hypothermia," she said, trying to force a blanket into my arms.
And I knew she was saying and doing this because she was worried about me, and so I smiled at her.
"Don't worry, my body is still warm, okay?" I said, extending my arm so she could touch it.
And she stared at me with her lips in a thin line, but still she touched my arm, realizing that I really was warm, like I hadn't even just come out of a freezing winter lake.
'How is his body still so hot?' she wondered in surprise.
And she even wondered if I had a fever, but she knew that shouldn't be the case since I looked quite healthy.
And without knowing her thoughts I continued, "And besides, I don't know if I'll need to go into the lake again today, so drying off now might be useless."
And hearing this brought Madam Pomfrey out of her thoughts, and she looked at me as she pursed her lips, knowing I had made good points.
But I could see that she still wasn't completely convinced, and that she would probably keep pestering me until I warmed up properly.
So before she could say anything I decided to speak, "Look, I'm really not cold, and in fact I feel pretty good, but to reassure you once the task is done I'll let you do a full inspection on me, okay?"
"And besides, while the task isn't finished I can keep warm using spells."
And realizing that I wasn't going to give up Madam Pomfrey sighed, 'Stubborn boy' she thought.
She then shook her head before looking at me, "Okay, but if I happen to see you shiver or even sneeze, I'm going to take you to the medical tent, even if I have to stun and tie you up to do so, understand?"
And I confess, the look she was giving me made me a little nervous.
"Understood ma'am" I nodded quickly.
"Great," she said with a snort.
She then unfolded the blankets she was carrying and covered Luna with them, checking the Ravenclaw girl to see if she was properly warm.
"Tell me if you feel anything, okay dear?" she said to Luna, who nodded with a small smile.
After finishing saying this, the feared dragon mother of the hospital wing turned and returned to the medical tent set up on the bank of the lake, going to wait for the other champions and their hostages to appear.
And after she left I sighed with relief, "That woman is scary" I said out loud.
"Hmm, I think she's kind" Luna said, tilting her head to the side.
"Oh yes, she is very kind" I nodded, "But she is also scary, fierce, and dangerous... And these are all good qualities of hers"
And hearing this Luna blinked, 'Are scary, fierce and dangerous good qualities?' she asked herself.
And leaving the little girl to her thoughts I looked back at the black lake.
And looking at the lake I used my senses to sense the other champions, and I was happy to see that my little "accidental bump" into Krum allowed Harry and Fleur to overtake him.
'Hmm, was interfering with another champion's task against the rules?' I asked myself, before shrugging, 'Meh.'
I then continued waiting for a while longer, and after less than a minute I saw Fleur emerging from the water, becoming the second champion to complete the task.
'No surprises here' I thought.
And it really wasn't a surprise that she came second, since Krum had been left behind and Harry wasn't as good a swimmer as she was, not to mention that the weight of the hostages had to be taken into consideration.
But shaking my head and putting these thoughts aside I went towards the two Veelas.
"You finally arrived, I thought you got lost on the way here" I joked, helping Gabi to climb onto the dock.
And in response to my joke, Fleur, in a mature way, showed me her tongue.
I then reached out my hand to her and also helped her onto the dock, and I could already feel Madam Pomfrey running towards us carrying more towels and blankets.
"Here dears, dry off and keep warm with this" she said to the two girls, who began to shiver from the cold as soon as they got out of the water.
And none of them refused Madam Pomfrey's towels and blankets, quickly grabbing them and drying themselves off and keeping warm.
"So cold" Gabi said, wrapping herself in the blanket while her teeth chattered.
And looking at her I took out my wand and cast a warming spell on her, and she was surprised at first, but as soon as she felt her body getting warmer she sighed contentedly.
"Thank you Ethan" the little girl said, smiling at me.
"You're welcome" I smiled at her, "And to help you warm up even more I'll ask the castle elves to prepare a mug of hot chocolate for you"
"Oh" and I didn't need to say how excited Gabi was at the idea of drinking a mug of the delicious hot sweet drink.
"Did I hear someone say hot chocolate?" and Luna, who had approached us, asked, with a sparkle in her eyes like Gabi's.
"Don't worry, I'll ask them to prepare one for you too, and with lots of caramel" I said to my sweet-loving friend.
And the huge smile that appeared on Luna's face showed how much she enjoyed it.
I then called a Hogwarts house elf and asked him to prepare hot chocolate for the three girls who were with me, and after thinking for a few moments I also asked him to prepare 4 more hot chocolates for the other champions and their hostages.
And while I was talking to this elf I didn't notice that Gabi was looking at me curiously.
"Uh, Ethan" the little Veela called to me as soon as the elf left.
"Yes?" I looked at her.
"Are not you cold?" she asked me.
"Hmm, not really" I replied.
"Are you sure?" she tilted her head, "I think you should cover yourself too, and if you want you can share the blanket with me."
And I smiled at the innocent, kind girl, knowing she was only worried about me.
"Don't worry Gabi, the important thing now is for you to stay warm" I said, ruffling the little French girl's hair.
I then heard a snort from beside me, and turning around I saw Madam Pomfrey looking at me, "See, even she knows you should be warming up" she said, nodding as if that proved her right.
"Nah" I waved my hand dismissively, "I don't need that"
And I could see how my nonchalant response made Madam Pomfrey's right eye twitch.
"Listen, if you're not going to use a blanket to stay warm, at least put on a shirt!" Madam Pomfrey looked at me sternly.
"Hmm, I could do that, but then I would be depriving the audience of a magnificent sight like that," I gestured to myself, proudly showing off my athletic body.
And Madam Pomfrey gaped at what I said, not knowing whether to strangle me or tie me to a bed in the medical tent to forcibly do a medical inspection on me.
'Actually I feel like after dealing with this boy I'm the one who's going to need a medical inspection.' she groaned.
End.
