Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was still looking down at the cursed spider on top of the desk, which was still standing there waiting for Moody's orders, and I didn't even try to hide my displeased expression.

But I was the only one showing any distaste for the situation, as all my colleagues were watching the spider intently, some curious and some excited to see what was going to happen.

And Moody, seeing that he had everyone's attention, gave a light flick of his wand.

The spider then began to squirm, before heading towards an open inkwell that was on the desk.

The spider then began to collide with it, hitting its head violently on the inkpot.

And seeing this I realized that Moody didn't intend to do the same thing he did with the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, where he put the spider to do funny things before revealing the truth of the situation, probably realizing that this class of now was not so naive in the face of the Unforgivables.

And the students noticed it too, as their looks changed from curiosity and anticipation to fear and distress.

And without caring about it Moody made the spider climb into the inkpot and dive into it, and after a few seconds the creature began to thrash around in agony inside the pot, drowning in the dark, slimy ink.

And Davis, who knew Moody was only doing this to prove his point to her, looked on in horror at the scene.

Noticing that no one else had a look of interest on their faces, Moody levitated the spider that was almost on its last moments of life from inside the pot, casting a quick cleansing spell on it before placing it on top of the desk again.

And even though the spider was still under Moody's control, everyone could tell that it was in a lot of pain.

"You say the Imperius Curse isn't that dangerous after all..." Moody started to say, "Total control over the target, can make even the kindest and most honorable of men commit the greatest atrocities. A single cursed person can destroy your own family from the inside out, and with that same control, a person can be ordered to kill himself in the most painful way possible without batting an eyelid and with a blank look on his face."

And after saying that Moody looked at the face of Davis, who lowered her head not daring to look him in the eyes, and I could feel a slight contempt coming from him.

Glancing over the other students, he gauged their reactions to his demonstration and examples, realizing that he managed to make everyone understand the seriousness of such a curse, and why it was an Unforgivable.

Nodding to himself he continued, "But such a terrible curse is not unbeatable... Those with strong will and firm conviction can neutralize its effects, and that is what I will teach you." and when he said this some of my colleagues got a little excited, happy that there was a way around this curse.

"But know that not everyone will be able to do it, there are those who are weak in mind" He looked at Malfoy and a few other Slytherins as he said this, a mocking look on his face.

And everyone understood the meaning of that look, but not one Slytherin dared to say anything to defend their relatives who were "cursed" and "controlled" by the Imperius in the first blood war. Not with someone as scary as Moody staring them down.

Satisfied that he had made his point, Moody continued.

"However, weak-minded wizards can survive this curse simply by choosing to avoid being hit by it, and this is something even some of the best wizards prefer to do, and that's another thing you'll be expected to learn in my class. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" he barked, startling a few students.

Satisfied with his work, Moody waited a few seconds for everyone to absorb his words, and after a while he continued with his lesson.

"But well, after seeing firsthand what the Imperius Curse can do, does anyone still have any doubts as to whether or not it should be an Unforgivable?" he asked, with everyone shaking their heads.

But Lisa held up her hand, and he looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes?" he questioned.

"But Professor Moody, we now know why the Imperius Curse is an Unforgivable, but I still don't understand why Fiendfyre isn't one," she said.

"Well Miss Turpin, the answer to that was in Night's explanation" he said, and with her confused look he elaborated on his reply, "The reason Fiendfyre wasn't considered an Unforgivable is because of its instability and savagery. "

"What does this mean?" Terry asked.

"This means that because it is a very difficult spell to control after unleashed, often killing the caster himself, it was not able to be added to the Unforgivable Curses, which even though they were less destructive than it, still required little control"

"But professor, that doesn't make sense" Pansy said with a confused expression, "Shouldn't its being difficult to control be another reason for it to become an Unforgivable?"

"I don't think you understand the true meaning of being an Unforgivable" Moody said, a little disappointed.

He then looked around the room, seeing that no one seemed to understand what he meant, until his gaze fell on me, who was quiet.

He looked at me for a few seconds, with me not looking away, until he smiled in satisfaction.

"And you Night, do you know the true meaning of being an Unforgivable?" he asked me.

After being questioned I continued to look at him for a few seconds, before sighing and answering, not speaking directly to him, but to my colleagues.

"Being an Unforgivable Curse doesn't mean the spell has to be destructive and uncontrollable, quite the contrary in fact"

"The Killing Curse, the Imperius Curse and the Cruciatus Curse are considered the three worst curses in existence for their degree of danger, their power, and how dark they are" Seeing that everyone was paying attention to my words I continued.

"But even these criteria could be fulfilled by several other curses, but there are two more points in these curses that make them different from others... The damage that a single person could cause with them, and their intentions"

"The damage that a curse like the Fiendfyre can do is immense, but because it is uncontrollable, wizards are afraid to cast it, and those who cast it end up dying, being consumed and incinerated by the flames of the curse itself at some point. And in fact, only one very powerful wizard could cast it, and even he would have trouble controlling it"

"However, unlike Fiendfyre, the three Unforgivables don't require a lot of control, just strong intent, focus and power, and they do almost as much damage as an infernal flame."

After saying that, I looked around, noticing that even the Slytherins were fully focused on my explanation, not showing any displeasure that they were learning something from a muggleborn.

"Now tell me, which is more dangerous and can do more harm in a society. An uncontrollable spell that can usually only be cast once before killing the caster, or three spells that can be used multiple times without any setbacks for the wizard who doesn't necessarily need to be gifted in magic?" I asked in a calm but serious tone.

And hearing my question, everyone looked at each other, starting to understand the meaning of being an Unforgivable.

"But Ethan" Anthony called me, and I looked at him, "And the intent?" he asked.

"That's the main part of these three curses" I said, "We all obviously know how intention works in magic and spells, right?" I asked, with all my colleagues but Crabbe and Goyle nodding.

"I say that the intent of these three curses is an important factor because to cast them you need to focus fully on them, and the intentions behind them are the most despicable and cruel possible, with many even saying that they go against the laws of magic and life, which is not 100% incorrect"

Taking a moment to catch my breath, I looked at Moody, who was looking at me with much more interest than before, which gave me a slight chill.

But since I had already gained his interest I saw no point in trying to hide my knowledge.

'Well, since I've said this far I might as well finish my explanation' I thought, mentally shrugging.

End.
