By the time Gray had arrived in the infirmary, Hunter had already been put to sleep. The doctors within the infirmary had, for safety reasons, injected a sleeping serum into Hunter's bloodstream in order to force him to sleep. Although Hunter had been motionless the entire time when he was moved from the cave to the infirmary, the doctors decided to put him to sleep just to be safe.
When Gray saw Hunter's pale body sleeping soundly on the bed of the infirmary, there were signs of worry written all over his face. Gray saw the bruises that were around the wrists and legs of his own son. It was bruised to the point where the skin color had turned into a deep purple color. The muscles on his left arm was completely torn apart from his self-inflicted injury. Blood stained the bandages that wrapped around his arm, showing Gray the pain that his son had to suffer back there within the cave.
