100% A snow elf's path / Chapter 2: Numinex

章節 2: Numinex

Giving out a small smile, she replied with. "My name is Alena, you currently are in whiterun. I own the bannered mare inn, you are safe here."

Wanting to go an extea mile in terms of assuring safety, the lady filled him in with more detail, which was topped with a little self-praise. "If I was able to lift and carry your body here without the guards seeing me, we have nothing else to worry about."

No doubt impressed of this fine lady's skills, he smiled back and proceeded to show gratitude, even though he still carried faint worry. "Alena, thank you for saving my life but I can't stay here forever. It will only get you executed."

He had seen enough slaughter as a 25 year old and didn't want to see any more of it, at all! Putting himself at risk wasn't a big deal for Arlond, he grew up taking such necessary risks. But he just couldn't risk the life of someone who had gone against all odds to help.

Being touched by his concern, the lady felt certain that rescuing this snow elf wasn't a bad idea. "You are safe here and so am I. Besides, the guards are mostly gathering around on dragonsreach these days. That's why it was easy to bring you here."

There was another point she wanted to make, but an additional wink had to be added on this one. "You are light as well so everything was easy."

This made Arlond a little bit shy even though Alena's goal was just to mess with him a little bit. That didn't go out as planned, especially since this lady was no doubt stunningly beautiful.

Blonde long hair were reaching to the end of her spine. And the skin she carried was glowing as if moonlight had struck her skin, concentrating all it's light. The eyes she carried were blue, that would give any man or woman some goosebumps.

He awkwardly coughed, hoping this embarrassment would soon go away and proceeded to ask. "What's there to see in dragonsreach?"

"The name says it all." She replied and took the empty bottle which contained the healing potion, and tossed it towards a basket without looking at it. "A dragon."

"Olaf one-eye claims to have captured an actual dragon called numinex and there are many guards gathered in the scene. They're claiming to guard the dragon so it doesn't escape, but actually they're just curious." Everything she said made sense, one would see such a massive creature every day.

"I doubt that dragons actually existed Alena. And if they did, no nord can capture one alone." He didn't want to sound rude but everything about this concept seemed unrealistic.

"Really?" She asked, trying to provoke him. But it just managed to make the man a little bit nervous, because her smile seemed a bit too cocky.

Swallowing spit in nervousness, he replied with. "Um... yes. At least, I won't believe anything like that unless I see it with my own eyes."

"Dragons were defeated before people started recording history." Alena's face suddenly became serious for a brief second.

But it returned to her usual cocky and happy mood, right after. It managed to send the man through an handful of emotions. "There aren't many books about dragons but there is this poem."

"What poem?" Such topics were never really discussed in the camp.

Without warning, she began singing it out and it left the later with a strong storm of goosebumps she just could not gain any control over.

"Dragonborn dragonborn.

By his honor is sworn,

To keep evil forever at bay

And the fiercest foes rout.

When they hear triumph's shout

dragonborn for hunger blessing we pray."

It felt like the singing ended there but no, she just continued with another song which played a heavy value as well.

"And the scrolls have foretold, of black wings in the cold.

That when brothers wage war come unfurled,

Alduin, bane of kings,

Ancient shadow unbound

With a hunger to swallow the world."

Alena sung the poem with a voice so delicate and beautiful that it gave the snow elf goosebumps all over, and that effect remained even after she stopped singing.

"Your voice…" A murmur was let out, it felt like a gift just to hear this lady out.

"My voice is good, I know. But it proves my point, dragons existed before." Stroking her chin, trying to think about this topic deeper, she added. "I wonder if it can helpful if we free it. The dragon is still alive, only captured."

"If that dragon managed to survive this long, from before history was even recorded, he is powerful. There must be more to this capture, a simple nord can't man-handle a large freaking dragon." Although a bit racist, he did have a strong point.

Getting a closer look at the man's face, she came up with an idea. "Bet I can sneak you in dragonsreach if you wear a big hood, we can both have a closer look."

Still hesitant, he pointed out. "I don't think that they will look kindly on a stranger though, this is too risky!"

"As long as you walk with me, the guards won't give you trouble." The good nordic woman assured, a tad stubborn about this idea.

Arlond tried to stand up in a rush to prove his enthusiasm but seemed to have forgotten about the injuries. "Then let's g... ohhh oh that hurts. That definitely hurts."

"Sounds like you need a stronger healing potion, I pulled an arrow out of you earlier." She explained in a gentle tone, after slapping her own forehead, realizing how far the injuries were underestimated.

"No civilians are allowed on dragonsreach before Olaf ne-eye says otherwise, Alena." Cleared out one guard, interjecting the clear command that their superior had made.

Knowing the language these guards understood best, she gave a seductive smile and replied with. "Well I have fresh beer, they are free. Just wanted to congratulate the legendary Olaf one-eye for capturing an actual dragon."

Still hesitant, the guard muttered. "I..."

"I have a whole cart of beer here. It was a pain in the ass to get them up this hill and my assistant was almost run over." With a seductive but yet victim like tone, she was already twirling these guards on her finger.

"I see but we can't go against Olaf's orders." Even though he wanted to get on her good side due to obvious reasons, fearing to meet orders were greater than pleasure on the job.

"I'm sure Olaf wouldn't want me to go all the way down again. Tiring my entire body to carry this beer for nothing, you wouldn't want it either." Replied the fine lady with a gentle and tempting tone, which made the guard sweat a bit even though the weather was cold.

"Alright, but if you cause trouble, your neck will meet the end of my sword. Now goo." The guard replied, aiming to sound assertive but his honour was already taken after subduing to the seduction.

He afterwards grabbed a couple of beers, one for himself and one for the other guard. Alena didn't mind this at all as the goal has been reached, well a portion of it at least.

"I'm glad we reached an understanding. Next time your beer will be on the house in the bannered mare inn." She smiled and walked away from them, aiming to enter dragonsreach.

"You!" Yelled the same guard they negotiated with, his tone was thundering towards the hooded man.

"Yes, sir guard?" Arlond gently replied when he noticed that a finger was pointed towards him.

"Alena is tired carrying that whole cart. The path isn't uphill now, let this fine lady rest and carry it on your own." With the guard's tone becoming thicker, he added a few final words. "You are a man after all."

"I most certainly agree." Gave out Alena a dominant smile, knowing well that it annoyed the snow elf to the core. "Assistant! Carry this cart for me, a woman can't be seen sweating like a wild-boar in front of all these construction workers."

"It is I, Olaf who captured this dragon. By my name, this beast should die in front of my feet." Cheers were to be heard as a man who stood out from the crowd, yelled his claim.

Everyone glanced at the dragon who was clearly captured with a wooden structure, much like those which are used to hold the head and hands of a human. But instead, here such a tool was holding Numinex down, it explained how one nord captured such a dragon.

Arlond was stunned, amazed, but yet sad. Olaf had the nerve to plan killing a dragon who was captured and couldn't fight back. The only attack this beast could possibly launch was to blast fire from its mouth. But that would bring the risk of 30 swords reaching its neck, and the creature was well aware of that fact.

"You aren't to kill this dragon!" A manly tone sounded out, which managed to sync everyone into shock.
