章節 84: I Have Daddy Issues

Xander made his apologies to my very flustered mother as she stood in the center of our basement, staring open-mouthed at all the damage he'd caused. I could see the veins in her neck bulging and knew she was close to exploding all over the man. Part of me wanted to step in and redirect her rage, but the rest of me knew the only way to do that would be to get her to focus on me and that was totally not happening. Xander was a big boy, he could handle himself.

True to form, he twisted the conversation to his advantage, keeping Mom off-balance, and even got her to give him our old address. Once he had the information he needed, he did one of those fake 'Well look at the time!' things and headed back out to Honeybell.

Not wanting to be left alone with the percolating volcano of fury that was my mother, I hurried after him.
