章節 105: Chapter 21

Conference room...

Some, rather special kind of people from the highest echelons of society has converged on this little room. They have a special ring on their left ring finger. The ring signified their rank and membership on this organization.

"Do you think he has managed to uncover the truth regarding them? It's been 10 years already! There should be at least an in progress report." said a rich old man with a champagne glass on his hand while talking to his colleagues on the energy field.

"Meh, I bet he hasn't even got past the same problem from a decade ago. Don't get your hopes up." said a rich second generation kid from a large consortium in africa.

"But do you really think that this family holds the secret to immortality? At least that's what he claimed. We are on the stellar age now and those are but stories from the past." a chubby man sat down beside the two as he ate on his platter almost like a pig.

"You should know that their insignia of an eagle can be seen on every historical figures pass their supposed death. That should at least explain that they have managed to ensure their continued existence, someway or another." answered the old man with an almost angry tone.

He clings to this hope of immortality or something that could extend his life. Yes, there are life extensions available on the market, it's been there for almost a whole century now. But it's definitely not older than the colony on the moon or the ISS 1 to ISS 4.

The very first ISS called "Peacekeepers' station" started as early as 1930's when a famous physicist figured out how to build even bigger rockets while looking at the prototypes of a large scale torpedo.

The very first rockets are launched on what looked like a launcher platform. Then through some careful math, they've managed to deploy everything with the help of IBM and their computers for doing math. The principle behind this rocket is that it creates higher pressure on the top and lower at the bottom, like a drone and through this, it can fly.

The station was the groupwork of different countries on the world. The US, the British, the Canadians, and many more joined the fun.

Supposedly, the German republic joined too but later pulled out on the 1930's when a certain moustache man became the chancellor.

The construction went on amidst the war that engulfed the whole world for 20 whole years starting from 1936 when the Third Reich attacked Poland with more than a dozen of tank battalion and a large army on foot and on air.

Their tanks are fast, almost like a ghost. Poles are fighting an enemy they don't know where and when will strike. Their rather outdated pieces of equipment are like a scratch paper in front of a psychopath.

The Polish didn't stood a chance, the germans used lightning offensive tactics. They've reached and conquered Warsaw in just 36 hours after the whole war broke out.

How it came to be is largely credited to a scientist that managed to create an engine that consumes less fuel but has great energy output.

The invention of the engine is but a miracle. It literally is a eureka moment from the scientist.

However, other sources claim that the blueprints are given to him by a secret society or he has stolen it from another renown scientist of that time.

As the war raged on from across the European mainland, the Americans planned to build a moon space station in preparation for a colony there. They supplied the British and the French war resources to keep them going.

They profited immensely from this and used the gathered funds to send mission after mission to the space.

But then the incident at Pearl Harbor happened. American attention and economy shifted that from space exploration to combat the Japanese who apparently has a formidable fleet even surpassing that of their own in some aspect.

Almost 25 Yamato-class battleships with more being produced every 2 years. 12 aircraft carriers with state of the art radar systems, and all sorts of naval ships.

At the beginning, the Japanese navy is larger by atleast 1/4 against the US navy. They also have experienced crew as they battled the Chinese navy who are still using WW1 era ships on desperation.

The soviets? They're using almost unscientific weapons of war. Powerful double barrelled tank guns, long range missile artillery. Solid bulletproof vests, and many more.

The world war two is way way bloodier, more devastating, and brought way more technologies in all aspect.

The allies against the Axis powers of the Third Reich, Japanese Empire, and some other smaller nations.

The second world war became not only a war on Earth, but on space too. The germans sent people on their own hastily built and orbited space station.

Just from this space war catapulted this Earth to the technology of the 1960's in one go. They make use of satellites for warfare and communication.

But as if something of a weird stroke of luck, the weapon as devastating as the nuclear bomb are not developed until the complete end of war.

The theories are there but the higher ups didn't really thought such a thing is even possible. If they're controlled or forbidden is unknown. But one can be assured that whatever or whoever made this possible is to be thanked of as it basically prevented a global extinction.

The whole world war ended after a grueling 20 years of constant warfare. The Third Reich was finally defeated even with the large amount of resources they mysteriously have at their disposal all throughout the war which suddenly disappeared at the last moments.

The whole specifics goes like this; with the combined might of the Allies, they pushed back the germans up to the outskirts of Berlin and a mutiny happened inside the Fuhrer bunker which ultimately ended the war on Europe.

On the Pacific theater, it's way way worst. The battle of Midway ended in an astounding Japanese victory due to their apparent new and more powerful missiles called guided missiles.

But a group of scientists suggested to use a special type of rocket that can contain people and shoot it to low earth orbit and have it descend on to the capital of the enemy, then have a D-day part 2 on the northern portion of the country while opening another front directly on the enemy capital through the low earth orbit insertion technique.

It worked, sort of.

The whole pacific theater only ended after the threat of the soviets invading from Manchuria. Their large although weak fleet is already threatening the Japanese mainland through the island of Tsushima.

The Japanese are absolutely weakened by the enemy attacks and by the decree of the emperor, they finally surrendered. However, some theories suggest that the emperor is forced to do it as evident by his shivering and shaky voice. As if, he's held at gunpoint by someone. But none really believed it, and it got buried on the dust.

And thus, the war finally ended on 1957...

Time slowly passed by and the world advanced at an incredible pace. The iconic capitalism vs communism made the whole world thrive.

The capitalists brought technological innovation on the field of the civlian related technologies as it's the most profitable. The communist however, made the most advancements on the field of space faring technologies.

They landed first on the Moon, then Mars, and even attempted to land on Venus however everyone thought that's stupid so it never came to fruition.

The US although has the early lead, failed to maximize the benifits because of the costly war on the Japanese mainland. They took almost 3 years to rebuild and consolidate their gains fully but by this time, the communists have already built "Glory to Lenin" or who's now known as the ISS 2 who's orbiting the moon.

Though the lead isn't exactly that big, the US still lost the title as the first man on the moon, and Mars. But they've started to catch up after the political instability at the USSR.

With the invention of propellant based rockets after the war. The soviets immediately jumped on board and used it as their primary space transportation method even with the initial high cost. The Americans wanted to adopt it but the cost is just too high at that time for them when they're still consolidating their gains.

But after 3 years they formally adopted it, but the soviets already had a large advantage in technology.

The whole cold war isn't because of the capitalists vs communism idea. It happened because of the honor and pride related on it.

These two countries, and with their allies built colonies on the moon first and on Mars. Though the colonies on Mars aren't exactly colonies but flags of a pact like the NATO, its still a significant step.

But everything started to spin out of the right path after the fall of the communists due to some guy with a birthmark on his forehead. The Russian space stations

Because there's no foe to compete with, advancements generally became slower. It's not until 2010 when the ISS 3 whose purpose is to become a space station for easy insertion of supplies to Mars was built.

This ISS 3 became the portal for the first Martian colonists to settle on the red planet by 2020.

The whole mankind slowly progressed thereafter. They sent satellites, probes, telescopes, and even speaker like objects which broadcasted signals to the deep space in hopes of finding another civilization are sent all throughout the star system.

Mankind managed to invent a short range transmission module which lets them warp space and jump a good amount of distance bt entering it.

This technology however is only effective for 1 Au and needs a cooldown of a 8 hrs before being used once more.

Mining, and civilian colonies, tourism, space docks, and many more are built on this star system's planets. They literally mined the hell out of the star system.

And on the turn of the 22nd century, something big happened. The whole world, all of the nations, and people under it came to an agreement of creating a world government. A government for the whole world.

It brought peace, prosperity, and stability to everyone and everything. And the first project of this world government?

Their first project is the 4th ISS or the "Protector of Mankind" station. Solely built for the creation of the very first interstellar navy of humans to provide them safety.

Back to present, the conference hall has finally quieted down as the man of honor can be seen slowly walking on the stairs to the stage.

The people who joined this conference disguised as a party with the theme of archeology, however it's really for the rich who wants to establish some connections.

The man wants their financial support to further his research. So he'll need to con them on investing to him while at the same time presenting his findings regarding the mysterious family.

He slowly walked on the stage and on to the floating platform which suddenly moved and floated up steadily and formally stopping after sometime.

The man motioned for everyone to settle down as he prepared to speak.

"What do you think of immortality? Do you think it's possible?"
