章節 37: A Midnight Attack!

I couldn't understand why she was standing. Moreover, did she follow us all the way here at midnight?

She looked at me and spoke, "You seriously thought that I would let you all take care of these Scaruns alone. I am from the Variaries clan. I was trained for this and I will fulfill my duty." Saying so, she jumped down with ease.

The Scaruns were now frightened and looking for a path to run. Some of them ran with pace and escaped off somewhere but the others were trapped. We formed a circle around them and shockingly, Lily was also a part of it. No wonder she was serious about teaching the Scaruns a lesson. Leaving her ego, she fought on our side.

We all attacked. I hadn't noticed but they did have weapons. They were unusual shaped knifes. But those were nothing against us. Oliver attacked one of them and Lily charged another with her daggers. I didn't understand why I did that but a strange feeling arose in me, like I should try out a new move. And I knew exactly which one.

I jumped high, almost gliding for those few moments and came back on the ground, thrusting Magnum into the ground. That itself sent waves of blue rays from underneath, reaching the Scaruns and defeating them. They fell to the ground, leaving their weapons and went unconscious. It was the same move that I had done against Oliver.

Oliver and Lily looked at me with amazement. "What was that bro?" Oliver asked in excitement. I shrugged, unknowing of how I had done it. But I was surely going to practice that and use it in future.

Lily was the first one to come out of amazement and running to get the other Scaruns. We could see them climbing the Mountain from far off. But there was another figure fighting them. There was no mistaking. Rock Flames was on the mountain, having two Scaruns grabbed by their collars in each of his hands.

He slowly made his way down and we proceeded towards him. "Well, they weren't a big deal at all I guess." Rock Flames laughed. We all laughed with him, even Lily had a small smile crept up on her face. "Time to take them to the clan quarters." Lily said. As we walked back to the unconscious Scaruns, Lily grabbed one of them by his collar and dragged him to the clan quarters all the way. Oliver took one and I did the other.

It was around 1:30, almost one hour, and we reached the clan quarters. Surprisingly, the master, Polwern Davis was standing there, almost as if waiting for us to return. He smiled when we arrived. "So the town is now safe from threat." The master smiled.

"Let's put these Scaruns in one room together and we will talk about the rest tomorrow morning when everyone else will be up." Lily suggested. The master nodded and the Scaruns were put into a room.

"I can't wait for tomorrow morning! I want to address your bravery to the others as well." The master exclaimed. We returned to the room.
